I liked that Malal was the god of destruction and hatred, whether it be inflicted on others or yourself. IMO chaos is most interesting when you get into these abstract and sometimes paradoxical metaphysical mumbo-jumbo.

Things like desire and anger are straight forward, we need more interesting domains for dieties like chaos itself and hypocriscy to name a couple.

"Order. Unity. Obedience. We taught the galaxy these things, and we shall do so again."
"They are not your worst nightmare; they are your every nightmare."
"Let the galaxy burn!"

Not hard, considering that the Imperium opposes everything chaos.

@the rest:

It's been rather apparently late that a lot of the fluff for Chaos Undivided greater Daemons and Daemon princes have strong tendencies toward being servants of Malal. But since we can't say 'Malal' anymore in GW publications...

La.

There is a story in Heroes of the Space Marines about the Sons Of Malice and did refrence "Malice" as a god or some other type of deity. We'll probably never know if Malal/Malice are one in the same or is/isn't intended to be.

All skill is in vain when an angel comes down and pisses in the flintlock of your musket.

…And if you mean heretic due to the fact that I detest your rotted, pathetic, corpse of an emperor, then yes, I guess that I qualify there also…

Hmm... my linguistics may be rusty, but I seem to recall that in some of them Malal = Malice, actually...

There are way more than 4 chaos gods anyway. The big 4 are the main and most powerful of all the gods but its been noted in the fluff that there are many more less powerful ones, malice/malal being just one of them. And in the new blood gorgons novel, the renegade chapter pay homage to a demon rather than a god. So what could be just a demon some could think is a god. And to be fair the elder have there own gods, the humans have a god, the necrons have star gods, and the hive mind could be seen in some respect as having god like power. So in short 40k has many gods already. And lets not forget that in 40k anything could happen!
