It just doesn't do well for model sales & GW doesn't own the rights to him.

GW's not owning the full rights means he will never be seen again. Malal was a one-off reference in a single story waaaayy back before 40k is what it is today, and GW would have to go through a lot of headache to get the rights.

That and, lets be honest, with recent fluff drivel that GW has been putting out with their more recent books, Malal wouldn't really be the Malal people are thinking of.

Personally, I can't see it happening as there would be a colossal amount of fluff that would have to be updated to include this new one.

I run a Malal themed chaos marine army, and I think we're fine the way things are. We don't need official coverage or rules, and they won't happen even if we did need them.

But would it, really? GW has practised retcon like some people eat popcorn - in large quantities, with no remorse whatsoever.

Additionally, the issue of other significant deities in the warp is pretty open in current fluff, I would say.

Could just change the name to... Halal or something.

But, no, it will never happen.

Theirs a Renagade Space Marine Chapter called Sons Of Malice who may be worshipers of Malal.

So GW could exstend the fluff relating to Malal by posting more fluff on the chapter.

But its Unlikely GW would ever do a project so bold they may just keep realesing more fluff for Blood Angels for now on

Malal is a god who gw made ages ago. But the owner moved to some other company and they have lost the rights for him, so he doesnt exist anymore.

IIRC
Malal was the 5th Chaos god, who had a 'fight fire with fire' approach to things, using the powers of chaos to oppose the othe chaos gods. Chain axes were his big thing.

The problem was, GW didn't own the Malal IP, he was a character created by someone else who let GW use him. When he left GW, he took the rights to use Malal with him.

malal/malice is the 5th chaos god who was the god of anarchy who fought against the other 4 chaos gods and theres alot fluff also i enjoy him but everybody puts in valid responses and yes the sons of malice i think do worship him

Indeed in the 3.5 codex there were a few references to him, namely the Dread Axe and Sons of Malice. Supposidly Malal worked against the Chaos Gods and hints that his followers would be fighting against other Chaos Legions. However the amount of shitstorm that would arise from reviving him would probably be equivallent to bring back Squats.

Malal seems possible as a army IMHO. I can see him as the Grey knights like chaos equivalent.

Heck just put a couple "upgrade" boxes together for princes and tac squads and you get double set sales. 1 for the box set then another for the upgrades/conversion bits.

Maybe if they made his into a up and coming deity thats gaining power amongst many instead of him just being the 5th uber god in the warp.

You're aware that "Malice" is just a generic term for "hate" that has nothing, at all, to do with Malal right?

Wasn't there a short story recently about Malal?
IIRC it was some sort of initiation by passing through a labyrinth. When the guy got to the end all these other guys were chanting "Malal, Malal" and then he got possesed - end scene.

i might just use him as the chaos deity for my own force.

Malal was the embodiment of Chaos's own discord, Chaos against itself. Quite appropriate, as Chaos is random and fickled, so it's entirely within it's own character to fight against itself, as well as having a whole god dedicated to it. However Tzeentch seems to have largely taken over this role, since his forces seems to have a serious loyalty issue (two blue horrors chosen as his scribes rather than a GD, mainly because two horrors are too stupid to turn on their master, as well as the Changeling, who is basically chibi-warp-deciever with a hilarious sense of humor).

I like the idea behind him and I would be for Malal making a comeback in some form, but he seems similar to Khorne in some ways.

However, Chaos is defined literally as disorder, or absense of order, and I don't think any of the other gods really convey that. They mainl convey corruption of ideals.

And it's also just coincidence that they're painted in Malal's colors, hate other chaos marines, and their highest rank are the Doomed Ones, which is also what the servants of Malal are called? Oh, and practice cannibalism, another thing commonly associated with Malal.

The daemon entity Malice still exists and is worshiped by the aptly named Sons of Malice, as one of the Heroes of the Spacemarines ( i think it was this book ) shortstories shows.

As long as they could work Malal followers into also fighting the Imperium I could accept it.

Having to make new Greater Daemons, Lesser Daemons, and Daemonic beasts would be required to properly reintroduce him imo and is far too big an undertaking for GW to bother with.
