Welcome to my very first battle report, and only my 3rd game with

Any C+C would be great, I hope you can make sense of it all!

Deployment Both objectives are fairly central; the gold statue and a com's relay in amoungst the bastions.
Dark Eldar deploy first, ravagers hide behind a bastion, hoping the Land Raider will opt not to do through all the difficult terrain. The Archon's raider tucks in next to the overly skully building.
Chaos have a fairly even spread across their board edge, unfortunatly for my opponent the
LR can
quite draw
LOS to the ravagers without goin in terrain.
Chaos tries to sieze the initiative, but flips a 1.

Dark Eldar Turn 1
Both Ravagers hop out from behind the bastion whilst the Archons Raider moves up behind a ruin.
The Incubi all get out and hide behind the ruin, The Archon just sticking out from behind the ruin sets off the
WWP. convieniently this blocks most
LOS to him.
The Ravagers mannage to miss with 5 Dark Lance shots, but the 1 hit penetrates and luckily scores an immobilized.

Chaos Turn 1
Kharn and his bezerkers hop out the immobilized land raider and head towards the ravagers.
The rhino shifts 6” forward and is
just able to draw
LOS to some Incubi.
The Daemon Prince jumps over the bastion and unfortunately is about ½ an inch short of making it into assault with the Archon (thank god for my
WWP 
)
The Land Raider fires his lascannons at one ravagers and scores an immobilized and 2 weapon destroyed’s, but the Flicker Fields save one weapon destroyed.
The Rhino then fires the Havok launcher at the incubi, but scatters 8” into the middle of nowhere.

Dark Eldar Turn 2
The Hellions come in from reserve using the Web way portal and the Razor flail Wyches move on 18” from the board edge and hide behind a bastion.
The one mobile ravager moves up to avoid the bezerkers giving the Land Raider a cover save.
The Archon and his Incubi move out and prepare to charge the Prince.
The Hellions shoot into the big marine squad and bring down 3 of them, they then prepare to charge them.
The 5 Ravager shots manage to wreck the Land Raider and the now empty Raider that was shipping the Incubi around explodes the Rhino, 1 marine dies in the blast, but they don’t get pinned.
In the assault phase, the Archon gets 1 wound on the
DP but due to eternal warrior, the Husk Blade can’t cause instant death.
The Prince scores 1 wound and I (being stupid) forget to allocate on the shadow field, so 1 Incubi dies.
The rest of the squad bring down the Daemon Prince, earning them a pain token.
They consolidate 6” and try to avoid getting messed up too badly next turn.
The Hellions get 4 wounds onto the
CSM’s but take 3 wounds in return (Chaos rolled AWEFULLY, much to my delight

), they remained locked in combat.

Chaos Turn 2
The Marines that got out of the exploded Rhino wander towards the Hellions to help the other
CSM’s out.
The Bezerkers and Kharn march on forward towards the Ravager and shoot at it, Kharn’s plasma gun manages to wreck it, the three other results (stunned, stunned, weapon destroyed) are blocked by flicker’s.
The
CSM’s charge into the hellions and along with the other squad, put 3 wounds on the hellions but fail none themselves.
The hellions fail their leadership and run for the hills (or to be more accurate, the web way portal

)
The melta/flamer squad consolidate back towards their board edge and the other squad head back toward the wreck of their transport and brace their selves for a visit from the Archon.

Dark Eldar Turn 3
The hellions are unable to regroup so fall back into the web way portal.
The remaining Raider comes in from reserve and flies straight onto the statue objective.
The other raider moves forward onto the objective in the bastions, making it 2-0 to the Dark Eldar.
The empty Incubi raider also moves to help hold the objective in the bastions.
The Archon and Incubi move up to assault the
CSM’s by the Rhino.
The Immobalized Ravager takes a shot a Kharn's unit and picks off 1 bezerker.
In the assault phase the Archon and Incubi bring down the whole
CSM unit and gain their 2nd pain token.
The Incubi consolidate back towards the statue objective and I (stupidly) forget about the Obliterator that are waiting in reserve.

Chaos turn 3
The obliterators wander on and det ready to rain plasma-y death down on me. (notice the template and scartter dice on the table ready and waiting

)
The Bezerkers move left ready to take the center objective, thanks to a 6" run the are right by the barrier and hidden from the ravager.
The remaining
CSM squad also move forward to helf take the center objective.
The Plasma cannons get 3 direct hits, and due to my idiotic placement, means 15 hits.
12 wounds go through, so every all 8 incubi get killed, the shadow field manages to save the Archon though.
By the end of that aweful turn it ends up like this.

Dark Eldar Turn 4
Finally the Jetbikes scream out of the portal, 36" across the board and bladevane then Bezerkers, I roll awesomely with the cluster caltrops, putting 10 S6 hits down, in the end 4 Bezerkers are killed.
The empty raider turns about to have a shot at the oblits, as does the raider over by the statue objective, Picking 1 off.
The wych raider in the center fires its Dark Lance at the Bezerkers and manages to kill one.
The Archon is
just in range to assault the Obliterators, both are killed by instant death and the Shadow field holds up yet again. The archon consolidates 3" with his 3rd and final pain token.

Chaos Turn 4
The Khorne Bezerkers and Marines vault the fence and the 'Zerkers shoot plasma at the wyches raider.
The resulting explosion kills 8 wyches! The remaining 2 get pinned, too far away to hold or contest the objective.
The score now stands at 1-1.

Dark Eldar Turn 5
Knowing full well this could be my last chance to kick him off the objective, I set to work.
The reavers fly up to the barrier ready and waiting to unleash some heatlance goodness on the bezerkers.
After another epic run from the Archon gets him into the base
The painted raider jumps back into the base and kills one of the
CSM's.
The Reavers flub their shooting, 1 heatlance and two splinter shots go through, the heatlance is saved by Kharns
inv save, and the 3+ armour saves the other two bezerkers.
Now I panic, Its 1-0, only because I have a few nearly dead models contesting.

Chaos Turn 5
Kharn and his two companions shoot at the Wyches, killing them.
The Chaos Space Marines get another "explodes" vehicle damage with the bolter/melta/flamer unit, killling my Raider.
I roll to see if we continue, and we don't :( The game ends with us each holding 1 objective.

So concludes my first batrep

Due too a few silly mistakes by me late in the game I couldn't table the marines. by the end of turn 2-3 I thought it was heading that way.
My opponent got
really unlucky with several things, mainly the daemon prince being just out of assault range and some rubbish rolls in assault.
Its the first time I've ever seen Kharn on the board and not have him even get into close combat, yet he still did awesomely with his plasma pistol!
