Insanity, to my point of view. Not because it's economically irrational, or because it's 'less good' customer service, but because GW should be able to capture so much more revenue on direct sales that it should be doing anything it can to maximize its market share in the direct sale market. This strikes me as saving $5 by losing $500.

We do have some discount Canadian miniature vendors too. Great Canadian Miniatures is still around (though their shipping seemed a bit odd and pricey) as in Heavy Support out of Toronto ($150 for free shipping IIRC).

All in all though, GW raising their minimum makes a certain amount of sense. I certainly don't like paying for shipping if I can avoid it, but I can't blame GW for trying to avoid ponying up the shipping cost on nearly every order from their website. Remember, most of the boxes and even a good chunk of blisters are over $20 CAD. Even with the increase, it's pretty easy to get to $40 CAD just by buying a Tac Squad or something similar.

If you were buying small amounts from GW before, you were winning big on shipping. Now, well, you can still get to free shipping pretty quickly, though not as quick as before. Just means saving up a bit for the orders I suppose.

Yeah, I was trying to buy some kabalites, and they didn't qualify for free shipping, so I just cancelled the entire order. It's not worth it to buy small purcahes on there anymore. I can just go to the store and save seven dollars :3

1.) Boom goes the dynamite!

Back to the shipping though - yeah, $15 for free shipping was a little low. I can understand the increase and $30 is still pretty reasonable, but I did certainly like it at $15 for when I just needed a few pots and such.

Really I'd be surprised if people actually mail order less than $30 worth of stuff.

That said, anyone that is that concerned about shipping can always try alternate methods.

I ordered a new codex the other day for 29 dollars and totally forgot about the 30 dollar free shipping. So got charged 7 bucks for standard shipping.

Well they do have to make their money, guess that price hike on alot of figures last year just wasn't enough for them.
