So here is the ruins I am starting off with.








I am going to have a Raptor being smashed through the broken section of wall by a Power fist San Guard, I have some spare beams from the Basilica Kit so I can suspend the RAptor in the air and so it will add a bit more movement to the action.



I was originally going to have a San Guard standing on his chest whilst plunging a sword into him as if the Guard had dropped onto him, hence why he is leaning back. However I am now tempted to pose him on the top of the ruins surrounded by a few dead marines because he looks like he has just mauled some. What do you guys think?

I would also like some help on other poses and things to include, my initial idea was Tac squad or maybe Cadian guard holed up in the building getting pummeled by CSM when the Sanguinary Guard (and maybe some Death Company) show up as reinforcements. Any ideas guys?

I am still open for suggestions for a paint scheme for the CSM. I have some Raptors and some Berzerkers so far but I wasn't sure about World Eaters and Blood Angels is that too much red? Suggestions and comments appreciated as always

If you're gonna make a raptors Diorama, it's got to be Night Lords right? I like the idea with the cadians, could make for some nice poses. And since I suggested Night Lords, it would be nice seeing some raptors clinging to the walls ready to ambush the Blood Angels who just arrived. Images from The Core in Fear the Alien keep popping up (great book, can heartly recommend it http://www.blacklibrary.com/Warhammer-40000/Fear-the-Alien.html)

Yeah I am thinking Night Lords, as I did want to have a few Raptors perched in ambush like you suggested.

As another possibility I was thinking maybe using scouts as the ones who are getting beaten although you do get more Cadians to play around with, hmm...

I'm really enjoying your efficiency/kit-bashing. I seeing inspiration on what to do with all the extra stuff one tends to accumulate. The spare demon prince you threw together is fantastic - makes me half tempted to grab a kit and play with it!

Ha ha I do hate to waste bits so I am always coming up with ways to use them up. The Daemon prince was a prime example, when I saw how many spares you get there was no way that I was going to just leave them in a bits box. Stay tuned and you might see some more random kitbashing.

Scouts would be nice too, think it would open up abit more possebilitys for coming up with a story around the diorama too.

I bought some Cadian guard and a command squad so I have more to play with for poses and casualties.

It's been a while since my last update due to a new job (Yeah!) taking up my time (Boo!), but here is a progress update with what I have been up to:

On the Diorama, I have built some Cadian guard in various poses including a couple of casualties to stick around the base. I will probably post pics of these guys after they have been painted as they look like generic guardsmen at the moment. Hopefully these guys should be a bit more exciting to look at.

I decided to go with Blood Angels Vs Night Lords for the colour scheme and so far I have finished these dudes:



Some base coated Sanguinary Guard (Bit dark I know but I will hopefully have better pics when they are fully painted.







This guy will go on the side of the building I just left him loose so that he was easier to paint.

I also painted Archaon since he is one of my favourite minis:







Finally I bought a box of genestealers for their claws, and rather than leaving the bits in a box somewhere I made a unit of Plague Bearers with some greenstuff and I carved some sprue bits to make the swords:





Up next I have a load of painting to do including some Plague marines, the Plague Bearers, more Sanguinary Guard and the Guards and whatever else I end up working on oh yeah I still have a load of Dark Eldar and some Plague Marine Chosen to do... Any requests?

I like the night lord on the lamp post, and th SG stabby pose looks really good. I agree with you about the raptor who you think looks like he has just mauled a load of SM, I looks like he is given a victory roar so yeah lesve him like that. Nice work killmaim

CHeers Tipios but unfortunately the victory pose dude is the one getting stabbed in the neck by the SG But It will be pretty easy to remake him. I need to make some more and try and do some more dynamic poses for the raptors, kinda like how you did yours.

Speaking of which you need some more updates , I need a fix of awesome dreadnoughts

I got distracted again and instead of working on the dio I have started work converting the AOBR termies into Nurgle minions

I have also done some work on Marcion The Blighted adding some gs and changing a few bits to make him My Nurgle Lord instead of a Word Bearer one. Pics to come soon.

Work has still slowed me down but for those who are interested I have repainted and remodelled my Lords so they fit my theme better

Thanks for the positive feedback Shingouki. I am really happy with how my Defiler turned out and I might add another one, maybe getting a FW Plague Hulk instead.

I had a bit of a painting frenzy over the last 3 days and have finished off my sanguinary guard (so tempted to do a full blood angels army):















I have another squad of 5 Sanguinary primed and ready to go. I also wanted to add Dante but give him wings like the Sanguinor but I can't seem to find any that are a good fit.

Here are my Death Guard Termies, some of which started life as AOBR ones before they got green stuffed and had bits added on to them. I am really happy with how they turned out and I hope you guys like them too.























Well that's all for now. Next up will probably be loads of Plague MArines I need to finish off and I might start a Thousand Sons force with the release of the Tk and GK stuff, that Necrosphynx Is calling out for conversion.

Wow work has really stopped me recently but here is the latest group of pics. These guys ar my chosen for my Plague Marines.



























I am polishing up the rest of my marines and then I should be up to date with the Harbingers and then I can crack on with another project.
I really want a Nurgle DP but now it's gone into Finecast I dunno if it will be worth it since so many people have had bad miscasts. May convert my own at some point.

As a side project to my Plague marines I messed around with some possessed and Sanguinary Guard (had to get some cos they are so freakin cool) and here are the results:



This is the first one I made and it's still my favourite, bit of gs and repositioning and I think its very dynamic for such a simple kitbash.
Next up this was initially going to go on the side of a building as part of a much larger diorama, but I ddin't want a big static scene so I just added a Guard to the base.









Next I initially had the Sanguinary smashing the night lord through the wall but I wanted the Night Lord landing instead so I swapped them round and used Tipios' awesome method of using genestealer claws as raptor feet.







Then I wanted to do an aspiring champ for the Nightlords and so I made this dude.

I have recently been busy with my plague marines and my Sanguinary Guard Vs NightLords side project. I have redone the majority of my plague marines so they have better paint jobs and I am quite liking the look of the army so far. Full army pics to come!

Also after I have moved house at the end of the month I can have some spending money again and I am planning on adding a few more bits to my san guard group (Sanguinor or Astorath VS Night Lords DP?).

There is also another dark power rising that I really want to start in full force and here is a little teaser.....

Ok After almost 3 months away from the site I am back and I have a heck of a lot of pics to add and updates.

I have finished off my plague marines for the moment adding a Huron Blackheart conversion and one of the sexy Nurgle DPs.
More work has been done on the Nightlords Vs Sanguinary Guard, now featuring Astorath conversion vs Dante!!!!

The Scions of Change have burst from the Warp spreading the glory of Tzeentch, following on from my sorceror teaser I have a 10 man squad, dreadnought and 2 DPs all built and painted!
Cockatrice + daemon prince + Necrosphinx= ????

And because I don't have enough to do The Blood Lords have conquered my desk with a load of crazed berzerker action Lead by a very angry Balrog conversion!

Plus other bits of random painting and converting like my girlfriends Faun Waywatchers, Corteaz, chaos sorcerors.....

I am back and very busy.
