Agreed. Steam is a great thing. And the fact that they sell package deals of like 10-20 awesome games for 25 bucks when they have a publisher sale? KA-FRIGGIN-CHING

In fact, the only thing I -don't- like about Steam is that they don't pay attention to users' emails detailing compatability issues that aren't listed on a game's store page (ex: Settlers 7 - which completely sucks after the first 10 or so missions BTW - not being compatable with ATI cards unless you set everything to use application settings)

They really need to post these sort of things in-store when users provide the info.

I got hold of Chaos Rising a day before release (guy at the store was pricing them up when I asked about them) and I can say this... do. not. even. attempt. to. install. before the game unlocks on Steam.

My copy crapped itself and took me two days to get it to work because it wanted to download the game off the Steam servers instead of letting me install from the disk after it aborted the install partway through when it realised the game wasn't released yet.

(note: ok, so it turned out to be as simple as just removing the game data and installing again, the first day of the 'two days' was still before release )

Why can't I order the collector's edition from gamestop or through steam?

I believe the collectors edition is only available through the THQ store.
