Keep in mind the PS3 version has every bit of DLC packed into the blu-ray. If you got any other version and paid for all that extra content it would come to well over 60 bucks.

Not only is it new for PS3, it is also using the ME3 game engine and has a ton of the downloadable content already with the game.

If they released this exact same game on the 360 as a GotY edition, I am pretty sure it would be at least $50.00.

Keep in mind, the PC ME2 is not what you are buying on the PS3. Totally different game for a different buyer. If you haven't played the game before, the ME2 on the PS3 is worth $60.00.

EDIT: Didn't see asimo77's post.

hmm.. well, I guess after I'm done with DA2 I'll jump into ME2, maybe by that time I'll be able to find it used a little cheaper, I'm sure the download price will always be pretty high.. which is kinda dumb, since you're just buying data, no disc or box or anything.

What do you mean "using ME3 game engine" I'm quite sure that despite all the DLC and maybe sharper graphics it is essentially a port. Plus ME3's game engine will probably be the same one as ME2 since it saves tons of money and time. Also besides controls the PC and PS3 versions are more or less the same, one just has all the DLC from the get go, but the PC version probably looks nicer (on max settings at least).

No its not. It's made with the ME3 engine.

Really? That seems quite peculiar. Wouldn't that be a lot of extra work for a port? Do you have a link where this is stated. Because if it's true I feel kinda cheated for buying it on the PC...

Aww well, I guess in the end it's just a small graphical change and I have all the DLC.

Yeah. I would much rather have a character I played ME1 through than a new engine anyway.

The new engine made no difference at all to my eyes.

Slightly shorter loading times but I assumed that's because I wasn't playing it on the box of garbage that might as well be last-gen ahem, the 360. I played the first fifteen minutes of ME2 on Xbox and then played it again on PS3 with the ME3 engine. I don't make computer games for a living but I didn't notice any difference.

There is a a difference, about as much as what what seen with Final Fantasy XIII on the 360 and the PS3, though I think you need at least a 1080p 42 inch to really see it.

I wouldn't feel cheated with the PC. With the right hardware, you can have graphics on the PC that is much better. I don't have the cash for a PC like that sadly.

Yeah as general rule of thumb the PC has the best graphics, albeit it may have to be on max settings. Which thankfully I could run ME2 on.

As side note I heard there was actually a substantial difference between the versions of FFXIII, at least on the FMV's. But who cares about that, I mean it's not like JRPG's are any good /trollface.jpeg

Load times should be the only thing that's worse on PS3 Because the blu-ray's higher capacity makes it slower to read
Anyways, the average person probably won't even notice a difference other than some blacker blacks or something.

If FF XIII would have been good, I would have probably not shut up about the PS3 having better graphics. It would have been payback for all those Madden 06 discussions I was in.

However, since FF XIII sucked, it really wasn't worth pointing out. Heck Game Informer never even bothered to review FF XIII on the 360. I guess they thought the same...

Yes, most people don't notice better graphics unless it is on the PC, then they can't shut up about it. The load times might be better. I know they were better on Oblivion.

I picked up ME2 for PS3 on friday, and decided to be a shut in most of the weekend. I didn't see that comic book thing though.. I just jumped into the game. I like how it seems more open ended than Dragon Age was. Taking a while to get my team together though, I still have one more guy to get and I want to do everyone's loyalty quest too before I move on with the main story.

I went to the DLC list, and it brought me to the PSN store and was saying I had to pay for everything... but I thought all DLC was included? Before I could even start playing it had to install 5 gigs worth of stuff off the disc, I figured that was all the DLCs.. so I might be missing something.

Most PS3 games require massive installs to make up for the slow read speed. You probably got a code for the DLC.

eh, I see I caught this too late.

I absolutely would not play ME2 without playing through ME1 first.

1.) There are tons of references and recurring minor characters in ME1 that recur in ME2. In ME2 they make references to their appearances in ME1, so these are going to be semi-confusing interactions at best in ME2.

2.) You build an emotional attachment to some of the things in ME1 over the course of the game. Just starting off in ME2, why should you care what the Normandy is?

3.) Of course, you can continue your romance options, depending.

I like ME1 better then ME2 but they are both excellent games. Both were better, imo, then Dragon Age. I liked DA but I found the companions in the game to be non-empathetic and in that kind of game, without compelling characters, you're lost.

Too late now, already in ME2. I've noticed a lot of things in the story that I clearly missed in the first one, but it's been fine so far. I'm going out of my way to do all the missions I pick up. I'm going through all the companions special missions, but I seem to be missing one guy. On my roster screen I have this one guy that I downloaded, named Zaeed or something like that on the far left. The space next to him is blank, then I have every other spot filled.

I'm enjoying ME2 a lot, I think I like the story better than DA, but I liked the gameplay and leveling in DA better. And I liked being able to map skills and spells to the 3 controller buttons, here I can only map them to the triggers and they're the same buttons you use to open menus, so when you try to use a power, you end up opening the menu instead. it's annoying, so I pretty much just don't use any powers.

You're missing Kasumi, it sounds like. She's the other DLC character, IDK if you still need to dl her.

hmm.. I'll look into it then. In the box there was a little paper with a code to download Zaeed, so I got him before I even started playing. But, when I looked at the DLCs online it looks like it's just weapon packs and outfits, which I don't need. That kinda stuff should be free, if I'm gonna pay for a DLC I want something substantial like a character or new missions

There is much substantial DLC so hopefully you got it all. Should probably ask Manchu. He's got it.

There should be DLC for stuff other than weapons and outfits.

Kasumi's Stolen Memory gives you a New Character, Loyalty Mission, and Submachine Gun.

Lair of the Shadow Broker gives you Liara and a mission pack.

Overlord is a mission pack.

Also be sure to save your game on a few different files. There have been people reporting that the game will crash and cause the save to be corrupted. Of course the patch for these issues is going to be released soon.

Oh... hmm, well I did overlord last night. And I did a big mission with Liara and the shadow broker too.. She's not part of my team now but I can go visit her at her place anytime. so I guess that stuff is all integrated and preinstalled for me.

I save all the time, I think I'm up to save 150 now I usually keep 2-3 different saves going, in case I mess something up I can go back and redo the mission or whatever. So between that and the autosave I think I'll be safe if one of the files dies on me.

oh and now that you mention it, I think I remember seeing a mission called Stolen Memory or something like that, so I'll give that a run through next I guess.
