Depends one where, and your pain threshold.
The one on my wrist didn't hurt at all, but the one on my back made me think I was dying.

But others have it the other way around.

It mostly depends on where it is. The ones I got on my shoulders didnt hurt, but a buddy of mine got one on his ribs and that hurt like crazy according to him.

Yeah, different strokes for different folks. My wrists hurt like hell!

Although some places do generally hurt less than others, like calf and biceps, other places like stomach and ribs are pretty bad. (stomach, chest and fingers were the worst for me)
Personally I think my least painful altogether was the inside of my lip.

The meet of my calves was fine. Shin iteslf was a bit more intersting, but still not bad. No worse then a scratch by a bramble

Just goes to show how many people are different when it comes to being inked!

I heard from a lot of tattooists, though, that one of the worst places is on the knee. Any guys here with knee tats?

Well, the only way you can really find out is if you get it done. I find that at most, I just have to grit my teeth and bare it. No passing out pain for me!

I'm very surprised that no-one has brought up eye-tatoos.

Depends on where you get it. The rib cage is the worst pain from what I've heard. My shoulder tattoo didn't hurt at all because there is a lot of muscle there. The one on my forearm was a little more tender and hurt a bit more. The only obnoxious part is after you get it done because the ink will bleed on your clothes if you're not careful.
