i thought at first them rather to be scenic decoration for my Command squad...but now i see there is mch potential...i might be wrong but this is for me something of a helper here to fix the somewhat lacking IGS in close combat? i might be wrong as i know next to nothing about the rules here...

Attack squigs would be cool with orks using say a grot herder with 5 squigs

yep, maybe a squig(runt)herd with an attack squig and squig(grot)-prod and a bunch of squigs?

I'd jot down "Fleet" as a special rule as well. I'd probably not have Furious Charge, though. The handler would best be on a horse (to have 12" assault range, as well). I'm a bit iffy about their statline, though, since military dogs tend to be extremely tough compared to such weakly animals such as humans.

It's a nice suggestion in the OP. Extremely fitting the IG "feel".

Beast/calvery already gain the fleet rule.

Maybe also.
Since dogs are great trackers they can re-roll on the reserve roll.
