If a Leman Russ tank had AV 10 front it would suck.

I've had reasonable success with him vs guard, tau, orks & nids, but then thats what he's made for, especially those pesky nobs, but vs MEQ he struggled a bit, Sang Guard had to back him up a bit, I love him, awesome model, cool rules & fluff, stick him in a rhino and off he goes.

I wouldn't let people who diss him without having ever played him turn you off. And if you're worried about footslogging him, put him in a tank.

He's a cheap and cheerful HQ. sure Sanguinor or Mephiston are "better" but you could damn near take seth twice for what the sanguinor costs. If you don't want to be sinking tons of points into your HQ this is a good option. leaves more points for transports and to give his bros some power weapons so people shut up about him not having one.

he may not have a 2+ armour save but that's why he's an independent character. so he can use his battle brothers as meat shields
