Well it's been a while but I got some work done on my land raider for my iron warriors. I had painted a large portion of it by hand at first, but never was very satisfied with the result so I didn't take pics. Then after getting my airbrush I decided to start all over on the raider, and only leave the interior as I had hand painted it (mainly because it is all concealed after gluing, and the fact that I actually liked what I managed to do with the interior) and here is the result so far. I haven't applied any weathering yet, as it will be dirtied up to look like it's being used.
The LR was basecoated with vallejo oily steel, then shaded with vallejo black wash and hihglighted with a mix of vallejo natural steel and silver. The yellow is GW's tausept ochre and then highlighted with vallejo yellow with some transparent yellow added for some depth. The areas was then masked for the hazard stripes and vallejo black was applied, followed by a highlight from vallejo black with white added. This was all done by airbrush.
Then all the bras areas where painted by brush with vallejo's red gold from the liquid gold series (absolutely fantastic stuff btw) as this is a nice coppery gold colour which I think fit in nicely as a contrast to the cold steel tone.

The style is kinda inspired by BulldogUK's fantastic painting style, but will end up looking less clean after weathering.

I'm thinking about adding some verdigris to the gold/bronze areas, What do you guys think of that ? It'll be a subtle verdigris effect I think.

Update time!
I have had a small break from reality in form of a trip to the annual Roskilde Festival and I'm finally in a state where I can paint again (damn alcohol :p) so here is my dreadnought nearly finished.

I decided to re-paint it as I wanted it to fit in with the style of my land raider, which will be the standard for any vehicle entering service in this army from now on. It still needs a few tiny highlights, some details and the lenses but that will come soon.











I opted for trying a OSL effect on the plasma cell, I used my airbrush to paint a blurry shape roughly coherent with the power cell and blended the edges to reach the nearby areas that light would hit, I used a mix of hawk turquoise and white. Next stage was mixing more white in the mix and doing a highlight. Then the recess got a light wash with very watered down hawk turquoise and a final highlight of pure white, both by brush.

Wow. I stumbled across this thread and really enjoyed reading it. I love your Plague Marines, especially the 2nd Ed metal. Very well done w/ color scheme and attention to detail. But the jewel of this thread is your Iron Warriors and one of the cleanest hazard stripe paint job I remember seeing.

Thanks mate The plague marines is really more of a sidetrack to the real army which is the Iron Warriors. <<<and hopefully soon there'll be some nice updates for the forces of Perturabo

@the damned artificer - where did you get the skulls that you have got on your dreadnought legs plates and front of your Landraider? I'm looking to do something like that!!

Hi, the skulls are green stuff molds of the small skull that is on one of the extra detail resin sprues for the warhound kit, so they're not so easy to come by

Thanks mate Sadly this doesn't get many comments, and is somewhat on hold in favour of their nemesis legion the yellow bastards XD But I just got a batch of 90 shoulder pads and another warsmith (so now I have 3) so I might paint some terminators and a few squads for them soon to paint something else

I also have a few vindicators for them that I might paint up soon
