I have an empty Sabol Motor Pool. I plan on getting Battlefoam trays for it starting in a week or two. I only need one bag really. I have something like a half dozen GW Cases. So I figure I'll get new BF trays for the GW cases and put infantry in those and then put my tanks and big stuff in BF Trays in the Motor Pool bag.
Trays will be stored in Legal boxes or in some old dressers I have in my storage garage and swapped as needed.

For what you are suggesting in army size, I would go with a Sabol bag (Platoon, or another similar shape that holds the same foam dimensions) filled with Battlefoam. The Battlefoam trays are a minimal price premium and a top notch quality, but the narrow Sabol dimension foams are going to be a hell of a lot easier on public transport. The BF dimension foams are much larger and will be bulkier to carry around in tight quarters
I know you said you made your decision, but hey wanted to stick that out there anyway. Hell man, the BF bags are so chingy that I got offered a brand new one with a nice discount on a personal sale and still didnt pull the trigger. But that is just for my personal needs. How much protection does an army need traveling under a half mile in a 6,000 lb vehicle? Whatever gets at my minis through all that steel isnt going to care what my bag is made of. But maybe it will work for you. Good luck! I hated making this call myself, and in fact AGONIZED over my final solution for many months because the gak is so expensive. Feel your pain.

@grizgrin
this may surprise you, I didn't know that the Platoon is actually smaller than Army Transport. Yeah the Battlefoam bags price is not very attracting, the platoon can actually be stacked to one another, Why doesn't the 216 case have this features? it is capable of sticking into a larger case though
I think I am going to buy Platoon bag before i bought the battlefoam bag, but with Battlefoam trays

Did you mean that you didnt know that the Platoon is smaller than the Battle Foam in the previous post? Cause the Platoon IS and Army Transport. The standard Sabol foams are roughly half the size of Battle Foam trays, little more.
I have 2 Sabol bags and their quality is fine for me. You are going to have problems hand carrying Battle Foam onto an aircraft, but I know guys who check them all the time without problems (I was shocked). Sabol Platoon will be easier to hand carry onboard, but keep and eye on it as some assmasters will crush your stuff shoving their bags in the overhead. Underseat space is dicey; sometimes they have a piece of gear placed there, sometimes the dimensions vary.

i have a Sabol army case for my fantasy vampire counts and a battlefoam 720 for my Grey Knights. i bought the Sabol case first and after using it for a while i found out that it isn't as supportive as i need it to be. when i open my case the other day i found one of my trays had partially collapsed and it broke my black coach. i was very unhappy.
but the battlefoam case that i have has never given me any problems. it is much more rigid and it wont collapse even though it weighs like 60 pounds due to all of the pewter. i am also a fan of the zipper that goes down the side. it make your army much more accessible than having to dig through tray after tray to get to the bottom.
if i ever buy another case (who am i kidding, when i buy a new case ), i will definitely get a battlefoam case. they may be twice the cost, but they are five times better.

As others have mentioned, BF products are studier and can fit more. However, that comes with a trade off. I have stopped using my BF bag for my regular armies and have regulated it for storage. The reason is, if you game often, I do about 2 tourneys a month, the constant taking in and out of your models from BF will chip the paint.

I meant that the Platoon is smaller than the Army Transport,and not by that much of the 432 and 216 size,I would assume that the 432 and Army transport mk2 cases to be the middle road of both of the manufacturer(and portable warfare), so they would probably be about the same in size
When I first look at battlefoam pages, I look into the 216, then said "Who am I kidding, I am going to get vehicles anyway)so I look into the next cases and it's alternative equivalent
so there you have it. I thought battlefoam are FAA approved?

I dont know about the FAA approving any kind of luggage, but I do onow Romeo did some research into making them in sizes that would be compatible with aircraft carry on. And that some people have had to check them because they were told it wouldnt fit by cabin crew. I think he did his due diligence, but some aricraft just dont have the space others do; it can be kinda hit or miss. Just because the bag fits inside he FAA guidelines for carryon doesnt mean some crewmember who forgot their meds that morning isnt going to give you grief. and they will outright LIE LIE LIE to get you to check it. never check sabol, its a deathwarrant for your figs. From what i have been told Battlefoam bags do quite well being checked.
A Sabol Platoon carries 8 inches of foam, if you are looking to take the fig list you gave earlier and add even a single foam tray of vehicles, its gonna be tight. Research very carefully before purchasing. you shouldnt have any problems getting a Sabol Platoon into carryon, other carryon items not being co.sidered of course; unless it is a DAMN small plane.

@grizgrin
have you count the 2 Rhino/Razorback? and one landrairder into it?
Battlefoam 432 is listed to carry 7.5 inch of foam, would Battlefoam trays differ much from Sabol Size tray?
from the ammount of miniature i mean (from my calculations 4 inch more space doesn't look much)
@taopaipai18
I have already browsed around Kaiserrushforth and their aluminum cases interest me , can I fill them with battlefoam trays?

the list i was going off of was the troops only, termies and assault troops. Battle foam trays are dang near twice the surface area of sabol, so while they will hold much much more in the same number of vertical inches because of that, its going to be a bulky beast to haul around in tight spaces like some of the public transport options I have seen. It can certainly be done, but just wanted to think of some of the issues OP might encou.ter from what was described. If I were going public transport that was standing room only, I would go for a sabol sized solution. if the buses in my area were pretty sparsely populated, I would look at BF sized trays.

I think Romeo is not someone I'd ever want to spend any time with, and I find him personally objectionable.
I still bought his bags, and my only regret is that some of the money went to him.
Seriously, I couldn't be happier with my 720.
And I'm on the buses myself. Any bag will be bulky, but most modern buses have at least a few seats with clearance enough to slide your bags underneath.

I guess you would be using buses a lot? Any internal racks for luggage? Seen those in the UK, big tube steel rack near the entrance for bags. Get much personal space on htese things? The Sabol will be better in tight quarters but isnt hard sided like the Battle Foam bags. People pushing, shoving and such might be an issue.

What army are you playing? Sabol foam is cheaper and works for most smaller armies without too many vehicles but when you have many vehicles especially large ones like Valkyries and Storm Ravens or Apoc units like Titans and superheavies then the large battle foam trays and bags are better. It took me nearly 6 months to get my battlefoam but this was awhile ago so they might be a bit better now.

I like Sabol... plucking foam builds character... and I love trying to figure out how to fit my models... its like Tetris. I have 3 MarkIIs, a Motor pool, and a platoon.
I'm thinking I might try Battlefoam for if I have horde type armies like Orks, IG, and Tyranids... right now for those three I'm just throwing them in cardboard boxes.

@ grizgrin Buses is my main mode of transport and well trains
the buses have no steel racks ( I know what are you talking about though, some non public transport buses back in indonesia have them), We don't generally push and shove , Perth is a small city
@Avariel
I am playing space marine mostly , half foot half mech up
I got 30 termies and 30 assault marine and 2 rhinos and an LR(although this is 3 kinds of armies
I can store the LR somewhere though, and my shop always have a land raider to spare, so the space for that is not that important
KR looks more interesting the more i see into it
so is Sabol, less is battlefoam (they are expensive)

Sabol Motor Pool should be good for you then. Land raiders do fit in sabol trays but they basically take most of a 4 inch tray.

The motor pool seems quite large though, as i Said the LR is not that important, the termies seem to like footslogging, Although someone from westgamers says that Motor Pool is the 432 equivalent
Does anyone have a size comparison pictures? compared to a human?

Just FYI, Adepticon is at the end of March and typically Battlefoam has one or two big announcements saved up for around that time...I happen to know something pretty exciting might be coming (at least for me, it's what I've been waiting for since I did my review of the 720).

Can anyone compare the BF P.A.C.K. 720 with the Sabol Armored Company? (I believe it's a new product?)
The Armored Company has a bigger capacity, but 720 custom loadout is very attractive. Unfortuantely, it looks like an Armored Company with BF custom foam will be WAYYYY too ing expensive. So I'm asking for advice.
1) Most of my foam space is vehicles. (3x Exorcists, 6x Rhino/Immolators, 2 Penitent Engines, Karamazov, St. Celestine (my only troop model that needs >1".)) I estimate this is about 8" of foam.
2) ~6 SD or 3 BF custom trays (1") will cover my troops needs.
This is exactly 12" with the bottoms. Enough to fill a 720. But I want to have the ability to expand if and when some new toys come out for Sisters. I have some SD trays I'm unhappy with, so I'm worried about the Armored Company, even though it's big enough to fit everything and then some.
And I'm not interested in the 1520. I might as well fill my trunk full of foam and park in the middle of the store.
Any thoughts?

Cant believe I am saying in public. GW monster figure cases are great for drop pods. you can carry 6 of them vertically blus a bit of room to carry stuff

Battlefoam bag is twice the price, thinner and less tall, but wider, battlefoam trays fit more ammount of model ,especially when you designed your own tray, play around with the tray designer, read reviews of both product and the decide if the gap in price is worth to you

i own the BF 720 and i am really pleased with it. due to the amount of tanks you have i would suggest battlefoam due to their foam being a little more durable. also if you need to expand later you can buy a P.A.C.K. Plus and that will zip onto the bottom of the PACK 720 and carries 6" more of foam.
