I think therein lies the answer. They are not all that vain about their niceties of their physical appearances and they look to get advantages where they can. If the teeth were augmentic they would be like "Jaws", it is another weapon and perhaps very useful for cutting cables, chains and whatnot in a pinch. Perfect, straight and regenerating teeth has to be an automatic part of the SM physiology, I doubt that all the recruits have perfect teeth.

Space Marines have 'morphed' throughout the years to become more like 'Chevalier de sparkle-teeth' in space than the 'rough and ready' tough guys they were seen to be 20 or more years ago.

That said, maybe SM's have shark DNA and always have a set of teeth ready to replace those in front.

Or maybe it's just a great dental plan...
