That's what we call game breaking at the points level you're suggesting. And since when did a STORM SHIELD become a power weapon?

exactly. I think the only thing stopping him from being unstoppable is not having T8+ and not being a D-weapon on the charge.
ATM, the only things I think he could get squished by is a lucky yarrick (3+ ignore saves every time), ghazghkull and maybe a whole bunch of vindicares and calliduses from the upcoming C:GK if the rumours are correct.
oh, and 10 battle-psykers working together with the current callidus.

The Assassin's in the GK codex are pretty insane..

Spoiler:
just picture a space marine captain without power armour, keeping the iron halo, +2 WS and +3 BS.. with a whole load of goodies on top.

Back on topic, this character should not even exist IMO.

firstly:
Spoiler:
and if shieldbreaker's true...ouch...I'd imagine vindicares having 4+/5++, WS6, BS6, I5, W2 and shots kill the target's invul for the game, costing around 140/150 pts.

back on topic, I agree.

I speak from the perspective of someone who has actually read the rules..

Anyway, what else is there to say? The OP wanted to know how stupid this character is, and I'd say that's done.

actually, with a thunderhammer and a power weapon, thats two special weapons. He would have to choose one when he assaults, so that's a bit better.. unless, of course, he has some sort of special rule...

This thread pops up every now and then, and when it boils down to it, it just doesn't matter if all the stats are 10s with a 2+ invlunerable. If the points are appropriate, then go for it.

Not so. Creating stupidly powerful special characters for no reason other than you have no skill with the codex and are desperate to win is just not on for me.

I disagree with astaroth- It may be balanced, but it's just no fun for either player and defies all logic and fluff.

Once again, disagree. Even if you made something awesome, but didn't give any justification for it, then it's going to be crap. There needs to be a justification will Noob Speess Mehreen Player #2871's Chapter Master is T10, S10, everything....without that justification, and a good justification at that, it's just going to be cheesy crap.

You really can't justify a Chapter Master with S/T 10.. can you?

It's 40k...I could make something up about how he was nearly killed, and rebuilt with dreadnought style technology and the best metal the Imperium can provide, or some crap like that.

ward doesn't justify it either. He just strings a bunch of crap together by bending existing fluff and mixing it with some crap about:
-nearly dying and gaining powers
-nearly dying and getting implants
-they're sphess mahrens and they're awesome so they can.

Heh, it looks like people blew out of proportion what I said. I was using that as an extreme exaggeration. Of course you woudn't have any character with all 10s, but what I really meant was, of course, if you do have extreme stats, make an extreme points cost. S10/T10 chapter master? No. Some sort of extreme daemon, or C-tan god,...maybe. It was just an extreme example was all I was saying. That's all I really meant.

it may stand from a balanced point of view, but from a fluff point of view? Unless it's a chaos god, C'tan, the emperor, ect. then it should no way have that good stats. It makes no sense.

Points costs don't justify things on their own.. that would be why my Nightbringer is 750 points.. fluff justification already exists .

...Again, just examples, and I wouldn't dream of anybody using them. I am an extreme firm believer that if you have the power, make the points worthwhile. Stats over 7 IMHO are just stupid.

They're perfectly vaild. They just need to be kept rare so they're more significant.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
