@Warboss Imbad Ironskull - thanks for the credit man!
@warboss - I thought about that, but I'm pretty handy with the ol' plastic card and green stuff. I'll probably make it more rounded than in my sketches, but I have a feeling that any standard size suit chest piece wont fit properly anyhow. Maybe XV-9, but that's getting really expensive to make a hammerhead!

@minionboy: Back on ATT there was a tutorial where someone beefed up a standard battlesuits width by putting plasticard spacers in it. I'll se if I can find it and link you there over on the site.

For people wondering/debating the feasibility of tau using such a suit, I posted this about it on ATT:
Now that they're expanding their empire and encountering new threats, they need new solutions. This big fellow is used when they need fire support in areas which make air support impractical or dangerous, and where terrain may be too difficult to navigate with a traditional Hammerhead, such as dense jungles and deep city hive fighting.
Additionally, the broadside suits aren't capable of carrying a diverse array of weaponry, such as the ioncannon, railcannon w/submunition, and the skyray missile racks. This suit is definitely more akin to the Broadside, albeit a larger version with more versatility.
As for the legs, if humans are capable of making digitigrade legs on our robots, i'm sure tau with digitigrade could make any kind of leg they wanted.

since the GK entry gets an anti-psyker aegis field, i'd recommend incorporating some fluff about a techno-based energy field emitter that disrupts psyker brain waves making calling on the warp difficult... basically, a tau-esque justification for the upgrade. i'd be fine with facing it in an apoc game! i'd appreciate the link if you can find it. sounds interesting! i used to frequent tau online but that site has gone to hell in a handbasket and ATT always seemed a bit too unwelcoming for me.

Since I'm only using it as a Hammerhead, I'd hope you'd be fine facing it in a non- apoc game.
I'm going to make 3 I've decided. 2 Hammerheads with interchangeable weapons and 1 skyray. I'll keep people posted when progress begins. I just ordered 3 sets of wraithlord hands, they're about the right size and have 4 fingers instead of 5, I'll just square out some of the edges and it should look perfect.

Reminds me of this awesome Walker that Caiin back on the WIP boards did as a count as Skyray/Hammerhead

Ya I'm not trying to knock ATT but I only go on there anymore to see what people create because the mods over there are very hostile in my opinion. But anyway if I remember right the project was something like making a true scale battlesuit. I'm gonna keep looking but I've got so much saved in my inspiration folder it may take awhile

The Dreadknight is perfect for a Tau conversion. Are you just going to smooth over the etched lettering on the armor plates?

Personally I think the best way to fix the lettering is to fill them with GS thenjust smooth it into the rest of the shoulder pad

It doesn't get more epic than that.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
