Wow, looking very nice, a bit of gryphonne sepia on the edges of the shoulder guards would set them off nicely.
Black would be too stark a colour change and would really jar the senses. Gryphonne sepia would do the job nicely, not all over the pad, but just around the edges where grey meets yellow.
I wouldnt do washes on the grey armour as it would mean starting the highlights again on it.
Very crisp, very neat.... I like.
Look forward to seeing a few more

Thanks! I'll try out that sepia wash idea and see how it works.
Still need to do the shoulder pads, the runic axe, the base and the pack.. still thinking of doing a jump pack. Tried my best to represent the conjuring of living lightening (or something).

Thats a good use of thin gauge wiring, I like it. I may steal that idea.

Grey Hunters in progress. I hate to mass produce/assembly line like this, because I'm constantly having to go back and forth fixing little mistakes on 5 different minis at once. I'm used to doing them one at a time pretty much completed then moving on to the next, but that is taking waaay too long to do. So instead of getting maybe 2 or 3 done in a week, I'll get these 5 done.
Yeah batch work is the only way i have found to get them finished in a decent time frame. Overall everything is looking good, i like the custom work on the rune priest. Very nice looking.
Just about done with the 5 Grey Hunters. Getting those FW weapons to fit was a pain. Anyway, just need to do some highlighting, the lense on the scope and the backpacks.
100% Rune Priest with Jump Pack and Chooser of the Slain "Marker" aka Spirit Wolf - The Jump Pack is magnetized so I can slap a regular pack on there as well.

Nooooo!! my babies!! haha jk awesome looking stuff dude, always fun to see the products of a well versed painter

I think you should give them a whirl. Not to glaze the entire miniature, but carefully put into the recesses. Your highlighting already looks amazing, but the shadow will give it just a touch more depth. I really like the exhaust weathering, really nice.
This!
The models look great but there is not a lot of depth to the color. This would make them really pop. As it is they look a bit flat. Clean paint jobs though. Don't be afraid to ruin a mini while you try out washes and lining techniques. You can always strip it if all goes wrong.
Correct. Despite countless millennia of evolution, technological advances and civilization, we're still monkeys throwing feces at things we don't like.-Zed.

Yeah I plan on trying it out eventually. I'm just trying to get table top so I can play. This is pretty close to how I painted them back in 1994 so I'm nostalgia'ing as well.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there 40k ninja. but then again the lighting isn't the best in the world. So maybe in person they're different. I've had lots of compliments, also I do use Vallejo Flesh Wash but I go back in and build up the highlights with glazes and things.
