Now, with that out of the way, I loved it. I have been waiting what feels like years for this movie. Finally, the side with interstellar travel doesn't get smashed by the ewoks. FINALLY. The aliens win!

I agree on all points. Movies are criticized for lacking innovation all the time. People want something different, but it turns out only a few people actually want the aliens to win.
