Dark Angels. Yes.
Dunno what it was, I started collecting Generic Marines, bought the DA codex for gits and shiggles, next thing I know I named my car after the Second Company and I'm thinking of converting all my Tac Marines to having robes. Not to mention the twenty Terminators I bought recently.
Yeah, if it's got Dark Angels iconography, I probably want it.

Black Templars and Ultramarines. You ask, why those boring Ultrasmurfs? Well, i tell you. The First Tyrannic War is one of my favourite storylines.
It is a hard fought war, with real losses which actually matter, against an enemy which always seemed to be on the brink of victory.
Even the final victory by the Imperium of Man has something pyrrhic. Sure, the alien horror is vanquished, but the first company is dead, many other companies are dangerously
understrenght. The Mechanicum allies as well as the PDF troops sustained crippling casualties and nearly all the reinforcements from Bakka ( 200 ships ) as well as many of the ships protecting
Ultramar ended as burning hulks.

For bringing that up you have been rewarded with my interest, what did you name your chapter? Also I think you have an article about them right? Drop me a link to the that if you can, I`d like to see if there are any more similarites.

space wolves for me. I love the fluff, and the style. I'd play them even if they were the most underpowered codex out there. I'm just lucky they're not
as for the ultramarines, yes, they're what the other chapters are compared to. that makes them a benchmark, not the best. :p

I must add the Mentor legion. Perfect for adding some some armour to the Imperial Guard, a diffrent paint sceme to an existing Astartes army (with some new toys fresh form the Ad Mech) or just a add a plain Tactical squad to any of the forces of the Imperium of man.

Deadly Dark Eldar Warrior

That's tough for me.
Black Templars, cuz they are the first chapter that I had exposure to (they were heavily featured in the 3rd edition box set).
Imperial Fists because they are the Ultramarines' arch rivals, as far as I'm concerned. Plus, orange.
Salamanders, because they are [black], have working pen0rz, and are bro-tier bros. They also spam flamers and meltas, two of my favorite weapons, so there's that.
My first homebrew chapter, the Garudas (the mythical bird that bore the Godhead on his back), was descended from the Salamanders. They fire lots of heavy weapons (lighting), then follow up with a frontal assault (thunder).
Then, I fell in love with silver paint schemes, so I repainted my army as you see in my avatar.
The Iron Templars are a third founding chapter descended from the Imperial Fists, and regularly attend the Feast of Blades. Out of enmity for the begrudged sons of Guilliman, they do not follow standard Codex organization, each company, or Praetoriat, is a self-contained army with complete armory and staff (with the exception of Librarians, who are too few in number), including dreadnots, vehicles, techmarines, apothecaries, as well as an allocation of scouts. The first company is still made up entirely of veterans, who are loaned to the other 9 companies as needed. Each company appoints a "Paladin" (Emperor's Champion) by popular vote, with the Chaplain's approval, to rally his brothers in battle. The Chapter's style of battle is adapted from a text preserved from the most ancient days of Terra [a reference to Sun Tzu, of whom I am a big fan].
