Homeschools, private schools & religious schools with uniforms are only for overprotective parents who want to scar their children for life, not let them develop proper social skills, indoctrinate them with their own personal beliefs (racism, religious fundamentalism, anti-science, etc.), and generally just want their children to be unsuccessful in life.

Rant much about things you know nothing about grade schooler? I know two couples that homeschool. One has a true ADD child and their kid needs a high level of focus. The other one went to Duke, at 17. So you might shut the feth up about things you know nothing about.

I think they should consider using Ephebophilia more, what she did was wrong, but the word Pedophilia immediately brings to mind the idea of pre-pubescents being abused and a much more hostile emotion.

In this case I think there is more of a grey line. not condoning it, but in some countries this wouldn't have even caused folks to bat an eyelid.

The age of consent in Washington is 16 as well.

England also prohibits sex between a teacher and student if the student is under 18.

Yes the law states no to teachers, and understandably so, but I can remember a 17yr old at my school who slept with one of the female teachers. She had gone through a messy divorce, and he was persuing her, it wasn't as clear cut as she lured him off. This was in the early nineties mind.

I just feel at 17, the line is a little more blurry, than say if the kid in question is under 16.

Hell, I've seen plenty of programs/news reports over here when parents of a 16yr old are pulling their hair out because their son/daughter (more of the later I admit) is going out with some twenty year old plus, and there is nothing they can do unless the girl makes a complaint herself.

It's not the age difference that bothers me so much, it's that the teacher is not in a role where she should be having sex (with students). There are certain responsibilities between a teacher and a student and sex is not one of them.

Also the administration would have to consider other issues like favouritism. It seems reasonable to assume that if she is willing to have sex with him; she'll be willing to grade his work more leniently. It's not fair to the other students...unless she has sex with all of them.

Yeah, this I think is probably a more important factor to me.

I'm just weary of the whole, she must be evil style thoughts that will exist out there over this, as at 17yrs, I really don't think and couldn't put it in the same bracket as someone doing it to someone twelve and under.
