Ideally, a form-factor not unlike a "standard" roller-bag carryon (10 x 16 x 24 inches). Done perfectly, this would give you about 18-20 inches of foam (The 432 holds 7.5".)

18-20 inches of battlefoam sized trays is larger than the 720. I think that's near the 1520 or what not bag size. I have a bag that holds 18" of sabol foam in a single stack(from SSD) that works great as a carry on holding my 2500 point army plus some. I am a bag whore though, and can't resist trying new ones as long as I can travel with them.

I did that this year and it worked out very well. FedEx knows how to box stuff up, I tell you what.

However, like I've been saying, once Adepticon rolls around there might be something interesting on this front from Battlefoam to consider (of course, that doesn't help you get your models to Adepticon THIS year, I know).

Can you confirm and describe the new Battlefoam case now that the tourney is over?
Or anything else new from them for that matter ?

AFAIK they did not make any announcement at Adepticon. :(

Nothing on their website either, if there was something new they'd almost for sure have it up by now.

For what it's worth, I managed to get my 720 into the overhead bin on my transatlantic flights (I think it was a 777, but I'm not sure.) However, I ran into troubles on my shorter hops from Amsterdam up to Edinburgh, which was of course on a much smaller airplane.

Yeah, there was no announcement from Battlefoam at Adepticon this year, although I wouldn't bet against that something is on the way in this capacity from them in the relatively near future.

If your question was to Lorek, he shipped it to me, since I was driving to Adepticon and I brought Truckasaurus. The real question is...will I ship it back?!?!! Cue evil laughter!

Actually they did, just it was at a 40k Radio Freebootas dinner, just not out in the general public.

Thankfully they did not, I asked them if I could stow it in a crew locker or something I think, whatever it was an extra storage area at the front of the plane passengers weren't technically supposed to use....they were nice enough to let me do it. I have yet to have to send it as a check in.

They are switching the 720s over to balistic nylon in May-june, so there may be a change since the old ones are now sold out.
The storage system is a Rack system for foam trays for your house.

I go to uni in the UK, and it's way too expensive to ship it with FedEx or something.

So i see, but wouldn't it be better to buy them at one of the retailers
like Maelstorm or Wayland?

I didn't think Wayland and Maelstrom could do orders for custom foam, but I could be wrong. The custom cut option is the main reason I bought my bag.

Still hoping they eventually develop a non licensed bag that is sized between the 432 and 720, even if it shares tray sizes with one of the licensed bags.

You are correct, they don't do custom foam , they do pick and pluck though

I myself am hoping that they would develop a bag that is like the pack plus(so between a 432 and a 216) but as a stand alone bag (with straps and everything) that would be perfect for my collection
