Devastator that must bulldoze is a overprices POS

you can choose to bulldoze or not to bulldoze

Overrun: when target model in the caster battlegroup , destroys one or more enemy models with an attack, immediately after the attack is finished , one model in the caster battlegroup can make a full advance , then overrun expires

Thank you for that sir!
I am aware I don't have to bulldoze, usually I choose to so that I can get into a better position, bulldozing one unit out of the way to get to another...
Overrun might prove useful...is it an upkeep?

Sadly no
It cost 2 focus though Strakhov have SIX (not amazing but if he had 7 he would be broken as hell)
Superiority and Occultation(stealthed Devastator eh? eh?) however is an upkeep

hence why Strakhov optimum jack number is 2

I believe overrun can be activated if the target kills any unit, not just an enemy. Thus strakhov could charge into the back of one of your own infantry, kill it, activate overrun, and get a free move as per his Sprint ability. And strakhov runs much better with one jack, since occult targets and entire Squad. Although, A destroyer would be an excellent second jack since it would benefit so much from sentry. Strakhov has far too many spells that you will want to be upkeeping/casting every turn to allow him to run two jacks effectively, but running a Koldun lord with a destoyer would be a very effective choice for him.

My Khador book says differently about Overrun

".... one or more enemy model...."

Strakhov would want a mixed force( superiority target, occultation devastator is scary, more heavy threat), Unlike eIrusk who wants as many infantry to go with him

If you're aware that you don't have to bulldoze then perhaps complaining about a pow 9 aoe is what you should be doing. It's your decision to lose the pow 18 attack and in some cases you really have to ask yourself if hitting more things is worth trying to roll that much higher as opposed to a normally straight damage roll or adding onto your roll.

Well that brings up something of a YMDC question. Cause as I read the effect it says when I advance into BTB contact, not when I end my movement. So theoreticaly can't I move similoar to a trample? advancing say, a 7 in charge, but at inch like, 5 I hit a model, bulldoze him out of the way, then complete my charge/run/etc whatever? Thats the tactic I've been using, and at my flgs we've agreed the rule doesn't say "end movement" like some other ones, it just says "advances into btb"

Your reading is correct.

Yes, but there is a clarification where a model can only be bulldozed once per activation so if they're not out of the way during the first bulldoze you stop at the next time you move into them.

Why? You can do Sorcha without Beast

Sorcha without WG however....

I have yet to find a reason why one would do that

MORE infantry to send down the enemy throat until he chokes?

Well there are others, such as the choice of two juggernauts instead or a Kodiak

Sorcha is not that Jack castery, but when a jack caster didn't take any critical components...(beast-09 OR behemoth and so on) then your mind can shatter

example
pButcher
Kodiak
Kodiak
+
something for 5 point
then you should start asking "WHAT IS THIS GUY THINKING"

Lol I told you why I had a list around sorcha in the first post...I just bought a battle box and another jack...and I'm poor I wanted to try out a list without buying 200 bucks worth of stuff without knowing what to get.
Sorry I ain't been around, I have college and have been building halo reach helmets for people in preparation of Humans Vs Zombies here on campus.
I been testing out that list I had thru proxy, butcher sprig iron fang (full) and dev...actually beat a cryx for once, even with all his armor piercing weaponmaster thrawls...bulldozed them close to each other with a sprig then nuked with a dev...he had such a large empty space that he couldnt kill the dev that turn (he did like 8 pts of damage spread across his systems though...think he hit it with a chicken or something...he was pissed he rolled so bad lol) and my iron fangs prevented butcher from being charged long enough to then kill his caster. So overall I think this list worked alright, certainly better than my last one...
did not like running my destroyer with butcher, as, like I said, I tend to snipe with him. I tried a proxy list with WG with mortars...that worked nicely but in my opinion armor 21 for infantry just totally destroys wg as far as how I play with them...I'm not a big fan of ranged attacks in this game (Play tau for 40k, need more markerlights), and i much prefer stabbing in the face. Plus that minifeat where they can reform into a shield wall after charging saved my bacon against the cryx. Now to just buy the models...harumph

Well this thread's dieing but I don't wanna start a new one just to ask this question (especially since it really pertains to this list) but how well would replacing the dev with alexia work do you think? At least against cryx (which is the majority of my flgs) she seems to be effective, and certainly more so than my dev has been recently... :( Thoughts are appreciated.
