Well, here's Canada's major parties and their respective leaders.
Liberals: Michael Ignatieff
Conservative: Stephen Harper
NDP (socialist): Jack Layton
Bloc Quebecois (separatist): Can't remember his name.

I don’t know who will win the presidency (way too early IMO) but I think Tim Pawlenty will win the republican nomination.

Canada doesn't have presidents it has prime minsters, also there is no republican party in Canada the closets equivalent would be conservatives.

At any rate, I don't particularly like any of my local politicians, but the dems are definitely the lesser of the two evils here, what with the repugs basically seeming to try and do their best to destroy the public school system and public colleges in the state.
I have always been a socialist, and I would love if the U.S. would follow the example of Sweden.
I don't know, or really care at this point, since I might be moving out of the country, if Trump likes that, but he has the cocksure and attitude for the President of the United State.
He's got my vote if I'm here to give it.
Tiny, well educated population with immense natural wealth and financial assets shoring up an otherwise weak economic portfolio? Anti muslim? I don't think wanting an apple to be like an orange is really applicable. It sounds like you're just going to throw out a spite vote for a bad candidate in a country you don't like.

Then I would vote for "Can't remember his name."
Anything to weaken the looming Canadian menace!

But you see I don't give a about Canadian political dealings, thus I simply acted as though the "Psych" was a period and there was nothing below it.

I don't know if that's exactly true. If you commit tax fraud or don't pay your taxes and become a convicted felon, the state could prevent you from voting based on that conviction.
I would guess that the argument would be that such denial followed from status as a felon, and not failure to pay taxes. Splitting hairs, but hey, that's what law is about.

.... I would assume this thread is beyond the point of no return.
If people want some actual discussion on said topic then I think a new thread would be best.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
