Yea no joke, if thats a 1st gen and STILL working in 10 years, some collector will buy it just because its the luckiest system to ever of been made.

Yeah I've gone through 4 xboxes. Send it in for repairs and they will give you another year of warranty if you are out.

My parents love QVC, and they have an Elite Xbox, 4 games, and the Kinect System (not to mention a free month of Gamefly) all for $430.00 My parents bought it for me, but I have to pay them back over time due to the payment plan.

Yeah I've burned through 9 Xbox 360s so far (5 at work, 4 at home). They have a major design flaw, but at least they seemed to have fixed it with the new heat sink layouts in the Elites.

Is that all elites or the newest ones? Because those from last year and the year before get the RRoD too.

All you people who replaced you RROD consoles did know that MS will fix it for free even if its out of warranty right?

They even gave me a free month of xbox live as an apology.

I'm shocked at these numbers, I had no idea people had such trouble with their 360s.

I had a first Gen, that finally RRoD last November. I never knew people were returning so many of them, that's insane.

I just went out and got the "Halo reach" Version, since it looked cool. I still have my old one, if it's true they will still fix it out of warranty, that would be nice.

You've got 2 warranties. Normal one which is one year and the RROD one which is 3 years. Doubt either of yours is still good.

the Elite Box, Kinect Adventures, three other Kinect Games, a controller, gamefly, all for the price of the Kinect + Xbox. Twas a good deal.

All kidding aside, id be damned if any of those first launches are left aswell, after mine red ringed, i gave it to my buddy (told him if he could fix it he could keep it and got it running again) needless to say he fixed it and gave me $30 for it, damn thing is still working and gets used maybe once a month by his brothers girlfriend

Got my 360 a couple of years ago, no RRoD as of yet (touch wood.....*goes into garden and touches a tree*)
but my friend from uni is on his 5th in just under 2 years....

I got a 360 release day and its red ringed twice (been solved both times by turning it on off at the plug) but still works well now. Mind you, the last time it ringed i cut lots of holes in one side for ventilation...

(about 5 with a 10mm diamiter)

My younger brother had his first one for about 3 years, no RRoD. Got stolen though. He's on his second one, and so far so good. What he did was mount it on two metal shelving brackets so that the case is open to airflow on the bottom as well. So far so good, he says it's never frozen, RRoD'ed, skipped, run hot, etc, which is dually amazing because it gets to be about 40C (104F) here in the summer, and my parents only got a Heat Pump/AC system installed at their place last spring.

I got 2 RRoD's, the first was sort of a good thing because it gave me the oppurtunity to upgrade to an Elite version (or is it Pro? It's the black one with the huge hard drive). Then that got one RRoD, repaired it, and it's been fine ever since.
