If you have a one MAN each with TL-shoota, combi-rokkit, and combi-scorcha you can split wounds. Three wounds would not result in the loss of a model whereas if all three were equipped identically, one MAN would be removed as a casualty with one wound remaining. Four wounds are required to remove one casualty with diversity.

This limited form of diversity isn't nearly as good as what regular Nobs have, but one has to do what he can. The combi-scorchas in particular are pretty useful independently of the benefits of diversity.

Grotsnik's benefit isn't just FNP for one unit; he allows every model to purchase a 5++ for five points.

I've been using him in Apocalypse with the Green Tide. 100 models with FNP and a 5+ cover save from the Mek is just too much fun. Next time out, Grotsnik will run with Ghaz and his MANZ and I'll use IA:8 Pain Bosses for the two Green Tides.

Yea, you allocate wounds to models carrying different wargear, which would benifit you the more you do so, especially on 2-wound models.

Yes mega nobz don't have all the gear that normal nobz do, but at least it's something. You'll probably always benefit from a skorcha anyway, since it auto-hits at str 5.

Okay so, I have gotten everything in the mail as of yet. I made the mistake of getting all kombi-scorcha meganobz. Do y'all think the kombi-scorchas will work? Or should I mix them up a bit.

The scorcha is probably the best value, but a mix is the best way to go.

Well after grulling hours of dremel and flashing removal. (dremel is an orks best friend btw). Here are the meganobz! Waiting for the bases to get here from dragon forge.

I would love to see that across the table from me.
