Shunting is not a move. You do it instead of moving. Like you run instead of shooting.

*edit* That quote deserved a response. I'll drop it from there so this can talk about other stuff.

Yeah, but Smoke Launchers aren't movement, and you can do that in the scout phase as well. The crux of the Argument is there is nothing Defined as normal. The Interceptors are making a Normal move, that they do durng the scout phase. That seems to make sense to me.

In all honesty, it's going to get FAQ'd like the other numerous and ambiguous wording on some of the GK rules. I don't think any side will come into an agreement until then.

Anyway, we've got that other thread to rage and debate in.

Exactly, there won't be a clear ruling about it until a FAQ comes out and until then we have a thread in which to debate it. Thanks for the discourse, it is much appreciated but really should be handled exclusively in the designated thread.

Continuing the discussion on loadouts for Interceptor Squads, what do you guys think about putting in points for upgrades? Is it a bit of a waste on such a fragile unit to take 5 point Halberds or do you think the enhanced initiative improves their damage output and survivability enough to be worth it?

I like interceptor squads for their shooting abilities with the psybolt upgrade, long fangs can be wiped out in the 1st turn.

The way I see interceptors, they are, as stated, a fast moving bully unit. They open up parking lots, or assault devastators first turn if they can. With halberds, they get expensive, but at S5 I6, not much is going to be hitting back against them.

I figure they are best used aggressively, they try to take out as many units and vehicles as they can before the enemy can effectively react. while they are distracted, the rest of the army moves into place.

10'000 years ago, Terra was under siege. The Sons of Rogal Dorn stood firm at the gate, never letting an inch slip away so long as we drew breath. We were killed in droves defending the Emperor and his Imperium, and we killed many in turn. We defended the Emperor and his Imperium, and this is what it means to be a Fist
