K I was at work today talking to my boss (he plays 40k) about my list..... and he thinks for my staple list of (Raider rush zerkers) needs terms over chosen it is possible but I can get 20 terminators on foot in that list or a 4th landraider.... with terms in it, that was his first opinions. Second, was to run 4 raiders with 2 raiders with 5 tricked out terminators in them and 2 with zerkers, one squad with kharn another with abbadon. Just to have the oppenent have to pick which unit he doesn't want to kill him..... becasue its a hard choice which target to kill first you know.

So what do you guys think is the best way to work around a base of an army like 3 raiders and all zerkers?

I've been playing Raider Rush with BA recently, in the Adepticon Team Tourney and then borrowing a friend's models to0 so I had enough points for the Adepticon Gladiator. I also won my ticket to the Throne of Skulls using a borrowed SW LR rush army.

LR rush armies subject you to more rock/paper/scissors matchups. Armies which have disposable melta units, railguns, or similar tools will tend to eat your lunch. A couple of lucky lascannon hits or a bad Difficult Terrain roll at the wrong time can also ruin your day. Some opponents, inadequately equipped with melta or other anti-AV14 guns, will get rolled. It can be strong, but IMO it's too matchup-dependent and results in less enjoyable games, where sometimes you smoke someone and sometimes you just get pounded. Close games are usually more fun, and LR-based armies have fewer close games IME.

That's all talking loyalist LRs, mind you. The same principles apply to Chaos ones, except chaos LRs suck by comparison. The biggest lack they have by comparison is Power of the Machine Spirit. Loyalists get to shoot at two different targets while moving 6" or less, or still fire a gun while moving 12". They also get to mount a multimelta (melta = key for popping enemy vehicles, of course) for only 10pts. Chaos LRs are okay, but notably inferior. I don't generally field a LR in Chaos until at least 2000pts, because it doesn't do enough and costs too much for what it brings to the table.

I think you have to run 2x DPs (Khorne if you're fluffy, Nurgle if not) as extra distractions and because the Land Raiders will provide a cover save. After that I'd try to fit in as much Termicide as possible and use it to hunt important pieces of armor like Manticores, other Land Raiders or Vendettas.

Tactically, I think sometimes the right option is to take the first turn or two and use those Lascannons then drive up. However when to make that call can be really tough as it means less turns of your Berzerkers in combat which is the real strength of the list. Just remember you do have that option.
