BT Terms are practically devastator squads. 2x s9 CMLs or ACs. I can't imagine having a Multimelta or 2 with tankhunter would be very balanced for BT let alone any squad of Terms.

The issue is balance, a unit with termie durability, and that much firepower? Nobody would run anything else.

GK would be insane...

Why do people always forget the Legion of the Damned.

For 215 points, you do get 3 deepstrikeing relentless meltas. One each meltagun, multimelta, and combi melta.

For 205 you get a similar plasma loadout.

Its not termi armor, but it is a 3+ invuln. They do have their own poblems, but just sayin.

One issue with the, "No plasma - overheat" posited by some can be found on page 102 of C:SM; "It is even said that Terminator armor can withstand the titanic energies at a plasma generator's core, and that was in fact the armor's original purpose."

Also, every previous write up always described terminators as, "Carrying tremendous firepower, etc, etc..." I'd hardly call storm bolters and a missile launcher 'overwhealming'. Perhaps it is just me. Then being armed with I1 weapons in CC so that every power weapon armed enemy can take a whack at them has always made me leery. Chaos has the advantage of power weapons and single claws mixed in at least.

Soooo, while terminators have some question marks, I still love 'em and can't resist playing them. A Dark Angel army and 40 Chaos termies attest to that...

Fluff-wise and balance-wise, why would terminators need a short range anti-tank weapon like multi-meltas, when they already have power fists, chain fists and thunder hammers?

Clearly that is wrong since most of the time when a terminator gets hit by plasma he doesn't tend to win in either the game or in-universe.
Wolf Guard also seem to be more like CSM terminators rather than loyalist.
