actually its a 2/36 chance of his Brain exploding.
the actual stats are
1/36 chance of Brain exploding(double 6s)
1/36 chance of Brain exploding and power still going off(double 1s)
total 3/36 chance of power failing, or a 91.6% chance of success.

What is the Simplification of 3/36?
1/12.
there is a 1/18(simplification of 2/36) that the knight of the flame's brain will explode, but i said specifically a 1/12 that the power will not go off.
I may have written it in a confusing manner as I then immediately stated that a 2 and a 12 will cause brain-splodey, but then I broke down why it is a 1/12.

yeah, i see that now.
still a VERY small chance of it not happening.
if you are banking on the power not going off, you are playing this game wrong.
ALWAYS assume the worst outcome will happen to you.
if you are the ork player, assume Cleansing Flame goes off every time and you lose 1/2 your squad each round.
if you are the GK player, assume you won't get your power off.

I was actually agreeing with you BTW; 1/12 is even less of a chance than 1/10. best part is even if the knight of the Flame dies, the unit does not get a decreased chance for the power to go off; they are all Ld9.

i don't see the point in giving the Knight of the Flame a special name if he doesn't do anything for the squad.
Ld10 at least would have been awsome or an additional attack.
oooops my Calcs were based on ld10
so its a 16.6% chance of failure to cast.

Well, he does bring a Focal point for the BoP.
The only other (GK)unit that does not have a justicar(and of course for BoP the KotF functions as such) is the Paladins; and they are all 2-wound models soo...
Although with BoP you may be able to get away with Suffering several Perils and plasing each one on a different "random" squadie, even if the squad is 100% identical. Another one for the FAQ!

Or you could actually follow the rules and assign numbers to each model and then roll off? Arbitrarily choosing a model is NOT the same as choosing randomly!

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |
