The difference comes from the wording. Most others say that the MC moves like JI. Grey Knights says that it "becomes" JI. This is what has caused all of the issues.

Also if the unit is both MC and JI is it immune to JAWS?

Daemon prince with wings is a monstrous creature that moves like jump infantry. Same with the current Hive Tyrant.

No. Simply based upon the wording of JotWW. It lists types of units that ARE affected but not types that are immune.
It seems like it could be a more interesting debate than this one though.

I've grabbed the new codex and am building a three Dreadknight list.

Looks like people are trying to get the ruling of "it's jump infantry and not a monstrous creature" so this beast can ride in a Stormraven.

Just think about that.

If it's suddenly not a MC, it can get cover like infantry.

What? A piece of brush covering the toe of my 5" tall model? Must be obscured. 4++! Nonsense.

The line of argument in favor of stripping MC status is getting more obtuse and dishonest by the day.

I just realize one solution for this debacle.

Don't use PT. Just get a libby with 3 powers. Put him with a squad of purifiers and toss them in a storm raven. Zoom 24 and jump out. Don't care for Dangerous terrain test results. He has 2 wounds after all.

If he survives next turn, use summoning to get the DK near. Good for distraction and tie up enemies' firepower for other choppier infantry to get near.

You do know that with this tactic you have the chance of losing the entire squad if one member of the squad cannot be placed? Have fun with that as I have seen IG Veteran squads disappear via Grav-Chute insertion and BA assault squads disappear via Skies of Blood trying to do the same exact thing.

So I heard you like quoting redshirts...

Anyway the general consensus among the web is that with the teleporter the dread is both MC and JI, since it doesn't state the MC is lost.

That seems like the best way to handle it, at least till GW puts out an FAQ that goes for or against it. With it counting as both it will fit well in the rules.

Blood for the bloo... wait no, I meant for Sanguinius!
