Um.... Yeah, NSFW, and be careful who you watch it around. It's quite.... Odd, to say the least.
Odd, yes....
The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Sleeping is time wasted you could be using to worship dark gods from beyond.

Did you know we all have slimy beasts crawling around inside us?
Sex education in middle school is alternately boring as hell, scary, and occasionally hysterical (provided you've got teacher who is either really old or has a crazy foreign accent). However, it's never really been outright terrifying. That said, a new short film shows just how messed up the class could be if it were taught by H.P. Lovecraft.
"Late Bloomer" by Craig Macneill is a short film takes the normal scenario of teaching kids about sex and reproductive organs and presents it in the narrative style of Lovecraft's various horror stories. Needless to say, the movie is one of the funniest (or horrifying, depending on your perspective) takes on sex ed you're likely to watch.
The movie was apparently an official selection at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. It also won the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the Lake Placid Film Festival, and was named Best Short Film at the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival.
At the moment, Macneill doesn't have too many films listed on his résumé. Hopefully, though, the director will eventually be able to tackle a full-fledged Cthulhu project. Or, y'know, do another short like this one.
I never understood why in a America sex-ed was considered boring I thought it was a entertaining class, especially with all the sexual innuendos we would say behind the teacher's back and how we would have
a competition on who could ask the most awkward sex related question. I think the winner was "When having sex with animals, should I wear a condom?" mind you asking about the hot substitutes sex-life was pretty
You Canadians are weird... sex ed is supposed to be the time when you must balance your desire to get good grades with the desire to not look like a creeper in front of the opposite sex...

A girl in my class asked the teacher who taught sex ed to us (ironically.. he was obviously a 40 year old virgin or something ) quite possibly the most unexpected question.
Spoiler:
"Sir how do you get the penis erect? Do you rub it?"
Teacher merely replied that he couldn't talk about that right now.

A better response would have been "I can show you how after class".

He couldn't show anyone anything; hell he couldn't even control thirty eleven-year-olds. Fool.
I'm I the only one who finds the meme-ification and over saturation of Lovecraft in pop culture a little tiresome? I was into his works before I realized the internetz dug its sordid claws (tentacles?) into Cthulu and friends.
Oh on topic: I didn't enjoy the film :/

Welcome to the way the world works. If anything is moderately interesting or popular, it gets milked for more than it's worth.
This is in no way a phenomenon that the internet invented, just made it more available. Before the internet, we had conventions and festivals.
Sometimes, parades.
