Guy's Andrea Miniatures is not some backyard, Johnny come lately, chance your arm, miniatures company....they are a well established Spanish company that has, until recently, specialized in high end collectors miniatures for historical and adult collectors worldwide.
This isn't a company that is likely to "stumble" into another company's I.P. and rip them off. That the awesome figure is clearly inspired by a StarCraft Terran Marine is not to be argued over.....however, it is sufficiently different, IMHO, that any claim by Blizzard for I.P. infringement would be blown out of the water....
Now for the love of god, can all the armchair lawyers bugger off, I for one am sick of hearing, "law suit", "I.P." etc everytime a new miniature gets posted. Can't you simply look at things like a hobby enthusiasts and critique the products on their own merit.

Pretty large market for large scale miniatures simply for painting. They tend to focus far more on the historical side, but Andreas is one of the few manufacturers whose range covers just about all genres.

I would rather see a balled guy in pseudo power armor than a Mohawk guy. I agree that it would make a nice statue piece of terrain though.

The few examples I have seen where sculptors have taken SM to large scale, they always end up looking more comical than the standard figures.....
Anyway, this is certainly going on my list of things to buy...I think it's an awesome piece.
It's what SMs should be if they didn't wear armour handmade by groups of lobotomized slaves and ignorant technical 'priests' working from a traditional design produced thousands of years ago when humans were emerging painfully from a scientific dark age.
In other words it looks modern, "realistic", if such a word can be applied to science fiction, and not Grimdark( tm).

This is a great sculpt and like others have said more "realistic" and practical than what you see in 40k SM... which is exactly why so many haters are ripping on it because its not a 40k Space marine but is trying to be, but IMO is a beautiful model.
For 40k tabletop? No A awsome model? YES!
This is how SM should look.

Ok, so I see that I may be part of the problem here, I've opened the thread stating in the title "Space Marine"....this may have helped those individuals who see Space Marines everwhere to see their favourite miniature here as well, and rather than judge this awesome piece on it's own merit, judge it against GW.....product offering. As such I have amended the title to something a little less emotive.
Let the games continue......

Point to note: the scale of the mini is 1/32, which is more familiar to gamers as 54mm, the scale in which GW's narrative skirmish game Inquisitor (amongst others) is played. The model itself is 80mm tall to the top of the head, which makes it about the same size as GW's Brother-Captain Artemis model.

Unless you happen to play Inquisitor (or some other large scale skirmish game.) or enjoy looking at things. Like those big bits of canvas people stick on their walls for no reason. You know the kind. Usually have paint on them.

Ahhh....and as if on cue, here comes our friendly neighbourhood troll.....ph34r you never let us down. I guess you missed the part of my post regarding internet flame wars....still, from most of your posts here and elsewhere, my guess is, thats why you come on to the forums.
Well to be quite frank, and looking at the childish content of your post, I really can't be bothered to try to reason this out with you. Of course, I have no idea whether Blizzard will issue a C&D, and don't particulary care. I come on here to talk wargames, miniatures and sometimes fluff, all the legal crap (to which I have no experience or knowledge) I leave to those whose business it is....I could suggest you do the same.....oh but I forget, when you're not out fighting crime, or performing a moon landing, your other job is that of I.P. Lawyer for most large gaming companies.....
Now before I put your I.D. on ignore (because you generally have nothing to say that interests me) heres some advice you probably won't take......wind your neck in, and learn to enjoy the hobby, rather then soaking your withered internet soul into every slice of internet based industry politics you think you can sniff out....it might make your experience a little less troublesome, and it might keep you off of peoples "ignore" lists.

Well. its hardly treading on Blizzards toes or stealing their money, as they don't do metal miniature kits, and you can't go online with a 70mm tall lump of pewter. And lets be honest, its not as if any of us are privy to what may have passed between Andrea and Blizzard, or not.

Simply love the model...would definitely order it now except for the mountain of unpainted metal and resin in the hobby room!!!
I believe a lot of the confusion in this thread arises from a lack of familiarity with Andrea's products - they are fantastic display pieces, but I don't believe for the most part aimed at wargaming - more aimed at the type of artist who paints busts etc. with oil-paints.
If you search them on the net, you'll see they cover a VAST range of subjects, some very identifiable, such as Robocop, Dirty Harry, Mad Max, Sci-fi, Fantasy "tropes" (incl. Highlander), and have been doing so for many years without any known issues.
So, in reference to wargaming...they're irrelevant...except to show off your painting skill.
In reference to miniature painting... they're the bee's knees . I've seen a lot of their products, and normally of fantastic quality.
Padre^.
PS. Also, added another inflammatory troll to the "iggy bin" - won't see his posts ever again - shame some people don't know how to communicate.

I'd also add that Andrea does do a gorgeous and increasing range of 32mm fantasy miniatures, most of which are down-scaled re-sculpts of models from their 54mm fantasy line. So whilst there are no hints in this direction, yet, I'd not be at all surprised to see this released in 32mm, as well.

Sadly (or fortuitously) the individual links lead not to individual miniatures, so I just browsed instead. I can't find it, but was it not Andrea who did the Indiana Jones+Dad R75 Combo kit, based on a conversion someone did? I forget..but I do so dearly also "want".

Andrea produce multiple models based on various film and fictional characters, from Batman to Neo. You can even buy individual heads based on film actors including Arnie and the Duke. These are all unlicensed products; however, they do have a licence to produce miniatures based on the Narnia Chronicles and on the Asterix books.
