Aside from the model needing bigger sculpted tits and abs, what scale is it? 28mm? 54mm?

I doubt I would enjoy painting that mini, Its well sculpted and I can live with cool factor vs realism... But its just way to big and it looks like it has been done a hundred of times before... I blame the space marine intoxication

It is quite a generic model. I agree, hence my comment.

Nonetheless, it is still a worthy model that could be used as a statue piece in a WH40k game.

All that open panel space is just calling out for super-detailing and colour modulation. Which is rather the point of large open areas on a miniature like that. A lot of large scale models are more about what you can paint on them than what is already sculpted. Some incredibly intricate camo patterns would suit it. That whole thing in "Ambush".. "This Way Up" printed upside down on the back of the leg. "Pin-up" Nose art akin to that on a B-17, or divisional and regimental logos. That's the way to go.
Its kind of reminiscent of what Starship Troopers Power Armour should look like, with a touch of the Halo about it.

"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all" Mario Savio |

I like that model and the paint job. It appeals to me somehow.
This picture might do a better job selling the model though: http://www.coolminiornot.com/275676

I'm really liking this. While I think it's paying more direct homage to StarCraft, I think that it is readily adaptable to 40K.

Did you recently get back from the dentist? xD
I agree that the one I posted doesn't look "real" or natural, but that has to do with the saturated colours and extreme highlighting. It looks like something from a photoshoot or a painting. The picture in the original post looks quite realistic to me, except for the mohawk.

I must say, I'm a little surprised by the lack of enthusiasm for this miniature. Personally, I think this is how a SM should look! and that it's close to StarCraft is actually a good thing. The few examples I have seen where sculptors have taken SM to large scale, they always end up looking more comical than the standard figures.....
Anyway, this is certainly going on my list of things to buy...I think it's an awesome piece.

I agree, this mini is lovely and lt also looks as if it could work in the 'real world' which is a double thumbs up for me. I hope that they might consider making a 28mm version, as I am not inclined to purchase pieces to paint ( I know lots do though).
Top notch mini, with a top notch paint job. I can't believe I missed it before.

There is no lawsuit here. You do realize people are allowed to sculpt and sell sci fi power armored figures right?
That miniatures is amazing. Unfortunately what is the point of a 70mm miniature? 28mm and I would be very happy but I really have no use for this.

It's a very good looking model IMHO. I won't be getting one, but I've seen it before and I think it looks really nice; I particularly like the armour design. My only criticism would be the seemingly over-sized hands, but otherwise I think it looks stunning.
