Has there been any word or good speculation regarding playable classes for chaos?

Personally I’d like to see something like CSM (various builds achieved via dedication to different gods/factions), heretics (has access to pet class NPCS such as mutants and daemons), Possessed CSM (low defence, high damage melee DPS) and Sorcerers (debuffs, spike damage and summons)

That's actually pretty much how they've been talking about it working for the Imperium. Just cosmetic options for Astartes to have different Chapters, and rather than Sororitas/Psykers we'd see Inquisitors.
The way I heard it was that the chapters themselves are effectively different classes.

I could see that working too, but mostly what I've been hearing on the grapevine is they're effectively 'cosmetic' options now. At one point they were talking about things like Black Templars being a 'tanky' subclass of the Astartes, Ultramarines being a team buffer, Dark Angels/Space Wolves being damage dealers(ranged and melee respectively)--things like that.

In that case, it'd be just the build of the class, similar to Warhammer Online's three builds for each class?

That's what I've been thinking and what they've been hinting at.

They might be doing more though. Like each build having different 'pathways' in terms of how they do it. Ranged tank or damage dealer, etc.

I liked the 3 builds for each class.
I would like further pathways as well...
This should be an interesting game depending on how they do it.
