I can't say I'm impressed with him.

Be happy he didn't just completely cut all inquisition related stuff as was originally rumored.

at least you can still run an all inquisition army(with some interesting and diverse choices)

Honestly, these Mat Ward as Troll Bait threads are getting a little tiresome. If you're going to troll a forum, at least have the courtesy to 1. Come up with something different to be a nuisance about, and 2. Don't admit it on the first page of the thread you started. That's just poor trolling.

SW codex is more broken, with IG still second. The fever has just died down. So no. Plus I've played GK for years. It was a very hard army to play. Now... not so much. I can't say thats a bad thing.

No, no I can't. Inq storm troops are gone, entirely gone. My 4 squads of them, useless. Warrior acolytes are not substitute, they're only BS3.

Elite Inquisitors, gone, 100% gone. My 5 Inquisitor force useless.

Assassins, vastly changed.

Daemonhosts, now best buddies with Grey Knights.

Allies, like my 50+ Inquisition guard force, GONE.

GK's could not take rhinos in the past, only ISTs. Part of the fluff for GKs is they were a quick strick army, teleport in, teleport out. They don't tool around in tanks, and when they need tanks they take Land Raiders.

Now they tool around in the same minivans the chump marines do.

So yeah, my army is dead. I'd convert them to IG but I have multiple IG armies already.

Cruddance or Phil Kelly hate threads.

Kid_Kyoto: he's likely meaning that there's nothing stopping you from retooling your "Inquisitor" army as something using the Imperial Guard book.

Quite frankly, the Guard book right now is with no hesitation, what I would go to for making an Inquisition force.

Why are people making this frankly idiotic distinction?

The guy's name is Matthew, a short version of which is Matt. You could spell it with one 't', I suppose, although then it comes across very pretentious, but it doesn't change who we are talking about.

Because that's his name, as it's spelled in every Codex.

If you want to talk about "frankly idiotic distinctions", at least spell the name as it's printed within the front of your codex.

What was the last thing that Thorpe did? You mean the Chaos book where Alessio Cavatore has come out and said that it was his input that kept vetoing down what Thorpe wanted to do?

And really, Kyoto, your army has changed, not been squatted. There's a difference.

You can play Inquisition with the GK codex and the choices are different. This is the same as almost every edition change for most armies. Some choices are no longer available, some are sub-par, etc.

Now if you started boohooing about LatD, you might have a point.

My current IG are carapace vets with big =I=s on them

But I miss my Kyoto Pattern Inquisitor squads (Psycannon, 3 heavy bolters)

I'll be doing a mixed GK =I= force one of the these days, hopefully before I pack up and move overseas, AGAIN.

Not really. LatD have a perfectly better list, courtesy of Forge World's Vraksian Renegades.

In fact, they have 3! Generic renegades, Khorne renegades, and Nurgle renegades.

I really wouldn't bother doing a mixed GK =I= force if you're so displeased with them.

I mean, if you already have the models go for it. But if it actually involves any work to get it done--meh. Not worth the hassle to do something you don't like, right?

I'm staring at the title page of Codex Blood Angels: "By Matthew Ward". I'm staring at the title page of Codex Grey Knights: "By Matthew Ward". I don't have the Space Marine codex handy, but I'm sure it says much the same. I apologize for making you look stupid, but you were obviously asking for it and made it very easy at that.

And to be honest, I'm a tad disappointed myself. Only a total asshat would spell his name as "Mat", and we are all aware of just how big an asshat Matthew truly is. It would have been quite apropos.

Grey Templar wrote:yeah, why is it there arn't any Cruddance hate threads?

Robin Cruddace received his fair share of hatred over Codex: Tyranids, and there are plenty of things I would take him to task for in the IG book. Kelly contributed the most ridiculously balanced codex with the Space Wolves, though he has redeemed himself a fair bit with Dark Eldar. To answer the question of why they don't get hate threads, is because stupid rules come and go, but fluff sticks around forever (as evidenced by how many people vehemently cling to the outdated/retconned/invalid stuff they read on Lexicanum or remember from decades ago... hell, I'm guilty of the latter myself). Matt Ward's fluff is the absolute worst, most horrendous crap ever published short of the Twilight novels. It splinters your psyche and scars your soul, leaving you with no other recourse but to lash out angrily at all living things. You lash out because you envy them the light of life that is now forever denied to you. You remain in the cold and the darkness, with flights of dreadknights hounding your nightmares.

Then apologies for making you look even more stupid:
Why bother calling him Matt? It's not like you're friends with him, know him, or have any reason to call him anything but his proper name. You're not under some time crunch because quite clearly, you have time to whine about him on the internet.

Call him Matthew.

Every interview he's done, it has him listed as 'Mat'.

If you're going to get technical, don't bother.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Cruddance receiving flak over Codex Tyranids is like the whining that went on over Codex: Eldar when it came out.

Tyranids is a just fine book. The problem is the players were coming off a far more powerful book, and were brought in line. Boohoo.

By the same token, how do you get off to call him so familiarly as "Matthew"? Shouldn't it be Mr. Ward? Now you are engaging in pointless semantics. Matthew = Matt = Mat = The Great Satan (in the eyes of many, it seems), it's all the same schmuck.

You made a claim that was patently false, I'm sorry your pride can't handle that fact being pointed out.

Seems a tad OTT over a bit of toy soldier belly button fluff.

To be fair I understood peoples' annoyance when the GK Codex was released but this is taking things a tad too far.

Yes, it is also the motivation of every terrorist and rebel group since the time of Spartacus. Like the machinations of Tzeench, the evil of Ward's fluff is not constrained by such paltry concepts as time and space.
