With AP4? Fire Warriors will be in Cover and Crisis Suits will be behind terrain or use their 3+ save.

Let's say the orks do average with max shots:
45 shots. 15 hit at BS2.
13 wound.
6.5 dead Fire Warriors. That's pretty good.
13 Saves on a 3 suit unit with 2 SDs, yields 4 failed saves. 1 dead Crisis Suit (2 wounds each) a dead drone and a wounded Suit. Not so Good. That's still 2 Crisis Suits functional.

Assuming the d3 yields x3 shots.

I'd rather tie 'em up in h2h with kommandos or bikes because they can' shoot back.

That was only one squad though, try adding 2 more full squads and tell me that would not devastate

It's also assuming that all the tau squads can fit behind available cover and still be in an effective battle position. Short of a dug in defensive gunline in a trench system, it's unlikely.

The lootas also have a decent chance of downing those pesky transports somewhere that the Fire Warriors don't want to be, like in the open

Squad one: Shoots down Devilfish- Fire Warriors bail.

Squad 2 : Shoots down fire warriors, possibly with help from squad 3 is it's in the list.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Honestly, I actually just found out the use of kammandos yesterday; never really looked into them much.
How are the firewarriors ever going to get to an objective when in cover all the time? If theyve got a unit out of cover theyre going to be annihilated. So effectively, the firewarriors are either pinned down and slowly losing guys or being wiped out because theyre out of cover.
I need to pick myself up a box of Kommandos and a Snikrot though, itd be a nice little surprise for my brother.

So I need 2 squads of Lootas and one squad of Kommandos. He actually doesn't get behind cover against me, so Kommandos will get to him faster.

Don't poke the sleeping squiggoth, he might get cranky.

Kammandos youre going to want to infiltrate in, possibly with a boss snikrot.

You never want to infiltrate Snikrot. You want to put him in reserve and tell your opponent about him, so he moves away from his edge - towards your army. if he doesn't, tear him up with those kommandoz until he does move away from the edge.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

That'll put some pressure on his Fire Warriors.

You beat it the same way that orks beat anything. Lootas, battlewagons and a big mech with a KFF. Done.

Fast is best. The ONLY thing he has going for him is shooting. Get into CC and you will win. I am hesitant to say use koptas simply because I have always had terrible luck with them as even with a 3+ cover save it only takes two failed saves and they die, or one if it is instant death. I'd say biker squads are better and so are boyz in Battlewagons. If you have nobz with power klaws you could even use boarding planks to kill his vehicles from inside yours that way he can't shoot your boyz as soon as you get out and munch his tank.

Perhaps you could try to use a 10 man squad on burnaz with a Big Mek with KFF in the middle to give a nice cover save to your advancing battlewagons and then BURN the nonsense out of any tau. I like them.

SPEED IS BEST as everyone says. Also Kommandos would be a major headache for tau. If even just because the Tau play KNOWS they will come in somewhere. He will have to play with that in the back of his mind.

When he plays against me he always fields Commander Farsight. Should I send in large fire power on him and his bodyguard, or challenge Farsight if so what should I use?

I think your best bet with farsight Is to get into close combat with it. You can use kommandos or even kill it with a commander of your own, like thraka.

Max squad of Stormboys with da Captain, DS them in, charge away.
Should at the absolute minimum distract him from the rest of your units and will most likely cause some serious 'urtin'.
Just make sure to charge the optimal squad with them, go for this heavy hitters.
