Jeez, I've been a crimson fists SM player sence 3rd ed. Speesh marnees themselvs a'rnt the problem, just the 9 codexs and the chapter hoppers that chees up the whole army. It wouldnt be bad if a player played a BA army with BA codex, but when you do SW with vanilla marines that where the problem arises.

your plasma weapon may be used as an explosive device in case of emergency

Welcome to the internet, and specifically a gaming forum.

If your choice of game is not made in a blood oath that can only be broken by a quest and vow made with the most overwrought dramatics, then you aren't doing it right. -curran12

Are you actually suggesting that he tells someone else how to paint their little plastic men?

There are some who walk until their legs fail them and they fall to the ground. I find that respectable.
Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

I myself play marines as my primary army and imperial guard as my secondary (because sometimes I don't want to play with marines).

People just get prissy because they don't like the fact that Marines are GW's poster boys.

I have never seen Ultramarine models in person anywhere except as the AoBR display models at a few stores. How is that "overdone?"

Are space marines overrated? I'd say somewhat, but that is to be expected. But then again Im used to playing Chaos, thus resigning myself 3/4's of the goodies loyalists get.

I regret nothing.

Their is nothing wrong with space marines but the amount of "ultramarines are the best" you can find in the codex makes me dislike them sometimes. I think it is a really fun idea to do a custom job on your marines and make a new chapter or pick one of the 30 or so chapters given in the codex. just dont do ultramarines!

We have 3 newish people in our group.

You really want to show restrant but you cant help it.

spare him. let at least paint all there hands red or something

Meh, yeah they're overrated, but let him pick what he wants to play. He isn't gonna finish assembling and painting an army he doesn't like, and completion is important.

I mean, I understand having models unpainted and all, I've done it myself enough times. But many kids don't even finish ASSEMBLING....

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
