I got the opposite problem buddy- without school I can't have fun.

...well, I suppose sitting in my underpants playing fallout three in between browsing jobs sites could be fun. The fallout three parts, anyhow. And I might get some painting done.

Wait, how can school be fun for a student? It destroys emotions, it makes you do things you don't want, like teachers telling you you can't follow your dreams, and instead send you to this subject that bores me to death, and I'll be stuck with a lame as f*ck job when I'm done with school. Other then that, school forces the idea of capitalism into you. Rush everything, School, a job getting money and spending it is way more important than having a good time and living you life. In my eyes, school makes you a robot.

And no, I'm not an emo.

I actually really enjoyed some of my schooling. Not a lot of people enjoy studying tax law. I was one of them.

Well, I'm not a student, I'm one of the programmers, er, I mean, teachers. So school, while not always fun (though who can say no to firing rockets, exploding chemicals, setting stuff on fire and playing with circuitry as a JOB) does pay mah billz. Seriously, life is not so great outside of the bubble of school, where nobody even pays lipservice to treating you fairly, and the consequences for not pulling your weight are a good bit more severe than an F grade.

Though that said, I have a few hippy friends who seem to enjoy themselves- not big on the possessions and comforts mind, but they seem like pretty happy people (thanks mostly to social welfare payments making a subsistence lifestyle relatively comfortable, it must be said).

Trust me, when you're a PhD student school is awesome. Not only do you get to study something you like, you get to mock younger students who are studying something they have to due to graduation requirements. And they pay you to do it.

I can understand hating high school, but college and later? No way, college and postgrad are awesome.

Well, I'm imagining that Scrazza is from Europe, where college might be free but one's options far more limited.

From what i remember of undergrad, I had an AWESOME time!

College is awesome, and the right postgrad is a completely lifechanging experience. The best part about it is that you get to really develop and refine your thinking because barring some menial tasks, thinking all day is your job! The wrong one can be lifechanging too, of course . Just in a different way.
Scrazza: Learning is great, don't let the little things get in your way. You never know what you'll end up doing, and some of the subjects I thoroughly hated in school (languages, economics) are now subjects I wish I knew more about and had availed myself of when I was given the chance (German girlfriend, general wanting-to-know-how-the-hell-the-world-works). Other times it's definitely been a case of "why the hell didn't I work harder in Maths class, this is freaking hard!". Learn what you can now, when you are given the time and space to do it, and you'll have it easier later on. (I ended up spending literally months working the equivalent of "double shifts" teaching myself calculus and the like in uni, when if I'd applied myself in high school I coulda been having fun instead! Ah well.)

Parking Fines, People go to the beach getting a tan etc, forget to pay for parkings or exceed there blue zone time (2 hours )
Thats when i come in and make sure they pay... People don't like that

...and the stuff happens...

example; next to a supermarket my partner gives a fine, the driver come running out of the shop, yelling shouting (basic stuff)
But then he opens his freshly bought milk and spray's my friend with it, ... he was not amused...

another: my partner gets some shenanigans with a couple of frenchies,... nothing seriously. The next day we've got a rookie, he does the blue walk (checking blue zones)
And there he meets those frenchies. His first hou on the job... he gets beaten up badly, had to go to the hospital... we never saw him again.
And after that day we've got the green light to walk with two, so we can help each other, getting zones done faster.

This is just something i heard, apparently a guy before me even got threatened with a gun, unloaded but still...

A lot of stuff happens i assure you...

I didn't drink in class until law school. We'd have speakers at night with open bar + classes at night = Class with open Bar!

On the other hand, I was separated from school twice in undergrad, withdrew from all classes once, and had to appeal an expulsion. God bless greek life...

Man, I wish I could do school. That's where the chicks are. I'm not too academically capable. I must have gone back to try for my Bachelor's like 4 or 5 times now. School ain't for this old boy. (makes me kind of sad inside)

I have a full time job so I'll be working. Other than that I'm going to try to go to a local gaming convention. Maybe meet some people in general. I've been where I'm living for a year now and I don't know anyone aside from coworkers and doctors.

I'm also going to try to go through some of the stuff I've accumulated and get some modeling work done.
