Have you considered dropping the Hekatrix and Poison blade and leave them simply as a tarpit if that's all you feel they are good for? You would net 30 points that could be used to strengthen the Beastmaster unit or buy Grisly Trophies.

I find the extra bonus of leadership 9 is indispensable. Though, it has crossed my mind.

I cant say Im a fan of the Baron when your not running a Hellion list, but I also dont have much experience with him, so I'm only going on what he looks like on paper

Baron is practically a must in any DE list as he provides something that most, if not all DE lists need - higher chance of getting first turn for the alpha strike.

For his point value, he's just too good not to take anyway, just for the +1 on the roll.

Not to mention he is pretty much essential to your Beast unit until they get close enough - then he can break off to give the beasts their full charge range if they are in the open, or stick around and give them grenades if charging into cover. He also confers stealth onto the unit as well, which is nice.
