This 1000x Seriously? Your friend quite after 1 bad turn? Well not even a turn, a half a turn and he throws in the towel? Christ you must get sick of him complaining. Tell your friend to stop dropping games as soon as he gets a bad turn and finish a damn game. Ive had plenty of terrible turns, and sometimes you can pull off a win from it, other times you cant, but who cares? You get to play a game and enjoy it, not whine like a 12 y/o and stomp your feet

Maybe he might want to switch to a different army if hes having that much trouble with orks, don't get me wrong the two races i HATE with an undying passion to play are Nids and Necrons (new by player getting slaughtered at the time). Last time i checked this game is supposed to be fun win or lose. I got a small ork army and i get me ass handed to me on a weekly with them do i care...no. its funny when a mob of boys goes against a mob of zerkers and stuff. again maybe he should try a new army ore change his list.

There is a Chaos player at one of my local clubs who used to quit the moment he had his Land Raider even the slightest bit harmed, immobilized essentially ended the game for us. Because he apparently couldn't come back from it.

He also viewed my Necrons as unbeatable and refused to play against Monoliths because "they were invincible." This was late last year/early this year.

Players like that need disciplined fast or their going to get set in those ways. I and a couple of other players taught this guy the game from then on and forced him to play despite his grievances, now he's past the rage quitting. He still gets upset when he loses a big unit but now he actually accepts it.

It's about teaching them how their amy plays and to focus on the fun of the game and bettering themselves for games to come.

This guy used to not even want to deep strike anything because he didn't like risks, now with a push he has started throwing Terminators into our lines. It's a good feeling to help someone out and create for them a great experience and find them new fun, even if you have to be a hard-ass initially.

I remember, one of the guys at my school who got into 40K, and into Orks at the same time as me. Put about 300-400 dollars into an army in the space of a month, got it all put together. Loved painting (actually, the first deffdred I scratchbuilt was his first painted model) like I love the skratching. Loved fire. Had lots of Burnaboyz, Skorchas on his dredd, etc.

Lost his first 7 games, and was about to rage-quit the game. Managed to talk him down, so to speak, and convince him to consider it from a more Orky perspective- who cares whether you win or lose, as long as you fight! Went into his next game that night a lot less stressed about it, and won!

Orks, more than any other army, are a race that needs to be played by the tenets of the race itself. They're wacky, aggressive, and generally a good time, but if you go into it expecting nothing but wins, expecting to keep even half your boyz, you're going to be disappointed.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

i used to be similiar, i would never quit a game, but would get pretty pissed if I lost a big unit, that was only to my brother and friend though, when i was playing someone i didnt really know I would just bury the fury deep inside and keep a cool face. Ive gotten better though, now i just have to take a deep breath when my LR or captain dies.

Makes it more fun (within reason) if you lose something very important however.
More of a challenge! And you should always learn from your mistakes.
