Logan: I didn't paint the Razorback. It came that way. I can tell you the grime effect is done with probably a chestnut ink applied as a heavy wash too the whole model. I happen to use the same ink on my own BA and it looks exactly the same. Its a good technique for shading and can also be used with red to add a dirty or blood stained effect. Thanks!

The army is progressing really well! Loving the way you painted the sanguinor, very nice smooth gold. I also take back my earlier comment about not liking the librarians head on astorath, now it is painted i like it!

Commander Cain: Thanks for sticking around. I think Librarian Voorhees has quite a bit of character. Glad the bit of paint put him together for you. Everything is still in a very rough stage. I used to paint models from start to finish and never liked the way they turned out because I would get impatient. So after following some other peoples WIP blogs, I have decided to work on a number of projects at one time. That way I am in no rush to finish anything so I can explore new ideas. Instead I can give shape to ideas as I dream them up and go back to my older projects when my interest is renewed. Stay tuned for more.

I've worked out some more background for Cerberus (counts as Dante). This gave me a chance to focus on, and develop his wargear. He also gained a new title within the upper ranks of the Chapter structure.

Captain Odysseus Cerberus



Angelus Panoply: The Angelus Panoply is an ancient suit of artificer armor said to have been worn by one of the great champions of the Sanguinary Guard during the final confrontation aboard the Vengeful Spirit where Sanguinius fell in combat with Horus the Warmaster. The ancient artefact, passed down from champion to champion through the ages, resonates with a mysterious and wrathful power said to be the Primarch's rage at Horus' treachery. It can be used to call down a curse upon a foe.

The Gauntlet of Perdition: The Gauntlet of Perdition is part of the Angelus Panoply and contains a set of ancient digital weapons. It uses the same rules as an infernus pistol.

God Slasher: Never was a weapon so aptly named as Cerberus' massive chainsword. God Slasher is a master-crafted power weapon.

Master of Shadow: As Captain of Sanguine Death, Cerberus also holds the title of Master of Shadow. See Tactical Precision and Surgical Strike for its effects.

Here are the concept sketches for the Landraider murals. I want to make these monochromatic and plan on limiting the color choice to the reds of the tank and then brown and black. I want to go for that dirty ancient look. Let me know what you think of them if you have any suggestions before I begin painting them. They are still a little bit aways as there is still a lot to do to the Raider before it gets to the detail stage. Thanks.

WIP BA Furioso Librarian


WIP BA Chaplain


The Libby dread is going to take some work. I have studied the works of others and meditated for great spans of time on what I want to do with this conversion. This is the general pose I am going for. So now the long process of fun begins as I attempt to construct the mechanics. I am thinking about throwing in another kit as well, but I will save the details for later.

The Chaplain is another conversion I have given a bit of thought too, although in a much less direct process. I really like all of the Chaplain models put out by GW and I knew I didn't want to just paint one up anyways. You can see from my previous posts that I have already used Chaplain components for a few of my other characters. I knew this was the helmet I wanted to use and it has been patiently waiting since I hacked it off of the original model the day I got it. That was over a thousand years ago.

My goal is to make this model look like death. I'm going to paint him entirely black (duh). He will probably have red eyes and maybe his mask will be the color of bone. Everything else is black. The Aquila black. Robes black. He will also dual wield two Executioner's axes. As you can see the finecast one is broke. It will be a CCW. The other one will be his Crozius Arcanum. Long live metal!

Tech Marine WIP


Living weapon. Blood Angel's Tech Marine interfaces with the Machine Spirit of the Holy Landraider Crusader to bring death to the enemies of mankind. A tech savant. Blessing of the Omnissiah deepstrikes hellfire upon heretic, xenos and mutant.

This is a really cool and well converted. Especially like the techpriest in the land raider

I've started working on the Vanguard again. The originals weren't BA enough for me so I let the Rage kick in and hacked this one to pieces and rebuilt it from a number of old and new bits. The rest of the squad will follow the same formula as the Sergeant but they will have single lightning claws and bolt pistols.

The RAS Sergeant is from one of my older squads from before the BA kits release. I have murdered that squad over and over again through the past decade. They have been dunked in simple green and repainted more times than I want to remember. They originally were a jump squad from the Marine kit and numbered seven from the old codex rules. They will now be a Razorback squad of five and eventually a bike squad of five for a total of ten. Their last incarnation was as Angels Sanguine and that shall remain. Hell on wheels. They will act as an honored attachment to the strikeforce and their tale will be told.
