+ WIP Thread+
This will be an account of a shadowy Blood Angels Strikeforce.
+Strikeforce Sanguine Death+
There is only War.
Captain Odysseus Cerberus
The sword he carries is named God Slasher. He is the Captain of Strikeforce Sanguine Death (SSD). SSD structures itself outside of the normal Battle Companies. Cerberus was originally from 3rd Company and is from the same generation as Tycho. While Tycho took command of 3rd Company, Cerberus put together SSD from the shadows within the Chapter structure. SSD recruits from the Chapter at large and members wear three white blood drops in place of their original company badge.
Death Company Sanguinary Priest Atreus
WIP
Brother Atreus was the youngest of 2nd Company's Sanguinary Priests before falling to the Black Rage. He began having visions of the Blood Angel Primarch immediately after being injected with the sacred blood that flows through the veins of the priesthood. The High Priests looked upon these visions as a blessing upon the young Brother. The Reclusiam watched him with a weary eye but found no signs of the Rage for a time.
Records show that a small 2nd Company Strikeforce was sent to a Hiveworld near the Eye of Terror to investigate rumors of Cultist activity. The force consisted of a single battle squad of Assault Marines from squad seven accompanied by Brother Atreus and an unnamed Codicier. Little else is known other than the Strikeforce was annihilated.
The Stormraven landed under the shadows of the Hive. The sector was a labyrinth of industrial ruins all slick with the blackness of time. The squad switched to autosenses, the Codicier taking lead position, targeting with his mind the warp disturbance that echoed through the corridors. Running out of the darkness a lone figure draped in rotting skins nashed its teeth and let out a screaching bellow. On its chest was freshly burnt the mark of Chaos. A single bolt reduced its head to mist. The remains rolled through the dust spilling blood in thick spirals. The darkness screamed in defiance and the squad was swarmed with Chaos Cultists. The Brothers hacked their way forward chainswords roaring through the stinking horde. The cultist bodies fell to the ground distorted into strange positions bones broken at odd angles and blood spilling from wounds where once there were twisted human features. Bodies began to pile upon each other and a red mist further obscured the darkness. The Sergeant radioed to the Stormraven for assistance and to send a coded distress signal calling for reinforcements.
The slaughter continued for two hours and left the corridor clogged with the stinking mass of lacerated carcasses. The Stormraven had erupted into a fireball after its third pass and still burned in the distance of the corridor where it had crashed. The squad pushed forward through the swarms of cultists and saw lit by flames the figures of a full squad of Traitors outfitted with inky black power armour decorated with human skulls and dried skins. The Codicier raised a shield around the squad deflecting the incoming hail of bolter fire. The Codicier chanted once more, blessing the squad with the Primarch's might. Sanguinary Priest Atreus ignited his jump pack smashing through the remaining cultists. The squad hit the Traitors hard. The great blackened walls of the corridor shuddered. The flames engulfing the nearby Stormraven hissed in their own fury. The Traitors met with annihilation. Two Brothers fell to their knees. One further collapsed to the ground, his face, eyes and jawbone missing. He made a gurgling sound. There was no time; blue lightning crackled and the most vile and blasphemous Chaos Terminators appeared upon the battlefield.
Strikeforce Sanguine Death were the only reinforcments in the sector. Atreus was found after the battle in a dark state. He was seated atop a great pile of corpses surrounded by pieces of the Chaos Terminators and the remains of his dead Brothers. The air around him appeared to crackle in a vortex of red light. The squads from Strikeforce Sanguine Death that found him had never heard such profound and dark words spoken. Captain Cerberus stood upon the pile of bodies speaking to the young priest. After a short time a Stormraven painted in the ritualized black and red of the Death Company arrived and lifted the Captain and Priest from the battlefield. The senior Strikeforce Chaplain was waiting within the Stormraven assault bay and inducted Atreus on the spot. His armour was painted black and he was placed in stasis upon return to the Captain's Strike Cruiser.

Your captain and preist are some cool conversions! Did you use finecast models for the bases? How was it? I haven't gotten my hands on any finecast yet...
Keep up the good work!

Counts as Mephiston
The axe will be replaced with Mephiston's sword. I haven't figured out his name yet, but he is senior librarian for SSD. He is old and wise and destroys everything in his path. He and Captain Cerberus go way back. He has been in SSD since the beginning. More story later as further visions occur. All is shadow.

Awesome stuff! Great fluff and models to go with it! Liking the new librarian though the helmet does not seem to fit too well, perhaps it is because of the style of the rest of the armour? I see Mephiston's body, flesh tearers backpack, sang guard gun and a lotd axe. Wow!

Here is an update with a bit more paint and a new name!
Epistolary Voorhees
Voorhees is ancient. No one knows how old he actually is but it is rumored he may be older than Dante. Because of his secretive nature most Blood Angels outside of SSD believe he is a myth. On the battle field he brings doom and destruction, coordinating his attacks from the shadows.

Stormraven Gunship WIP
+Purged by Order of Captain Cerberus+
StormRaven sent to Chapter Artificers for further Retrofitting
Its funny how these projects tend to complicate themselves. This will most likely be a slow back burner project. I tend to jump from one unfinished project to the next sketching out the character of the model and then moving on once I have a general theme to the piece.
I picked this Stormbird up before the official model was released. It was built by somebody else. The doors were glued shut so I carefully broke it apart, cleaned it up and got some primer and a base coat on it. At the time I thought it was pretty cool. I'm not sure what to think about it now. Perhaps it is a bit dated with the official release. Maybe it could use some sort of plasticard to armor up the cockpit and connect it with the bottom fuselage component. I think right now it looks a bit more Imperial Guard than Marine. What do you think? Any suggestions?
Thanks for checking it out.

Thanks Logan. That's kind of the problem I am seeing too. I'm not quite prepared to take the whole front end apart just yet, although that seems to be what will happen at some point. I am thinking about splitting the nose in half down the middle, extended it and use plasticard to armor it up. I would then find a new place for the assault cannons after that. It would also be cool to find another pair of engines on the cheap somewhere and attach them to the wings like the stock SR. I would then have a custom 4-engine for Captain Cerberus' personal use. Just kinda brainstorming and projecting at this point while I work through some other projects. Feel free to add any ideas, friends.
Landraider Salvage WIP
Alright, I just got this used from the FLGS this afternoon and I forgot to take a picture of it before the Rage got to me and I took it apart and threw it in the sink. It was covered in so much dust that is looked like it was covered in weathering powder and flock. Oh well. I took it apart without causing too much damage to the model and without cutting myself. Its not perfect (the side doors and guns are glued solid into the chasis) but it was a deal and I do enjoy taking models apart. Luckily the paint is not thick at all and I will spray primer right over it after it dries from the bath.
DC Rhino WIP
This is my very first Rhino. I lost my original collection in a move a number of years ago. This and my original plastic Beakies managed to survive traveling through the warp with me along with a metal assault canon dreadnaught. So I figure this Rhino represents a holy relic and is deserving of the Ceramonial Black with Red Saltires and will rely on it to carry the DC of Strikeforce Sanguine Death to victory in death.
Thanks for checking it out. Stay tuned for more.

Dakkagrot187: Yeah, I sent the SR to the techmarines and artificers of the Chapter Chopshop back on Baal. Perhaps they will come up with something in time. Thanks for the comment!
On to the next Project!
I scored this BA Rhino today at a local swapshop today for supercheap. I didn't know about it so I arrived at the end and this was really all I got besides a few random bits and some skull field bases for Terminators (Knight of Blood side project coming soon ) The doors are all sealed shut. Darn! So I turned the Rhino into an AC Razorback. The top hatch had to go. It had a nice freehand skull on it but I had to drill a hole through its brainpan to remove the doors. Perhaps I can salvage the doors for a future project. For now it makes for a nice relic. After that I ripped off a dozerblade and the smoke launchers, added some tracks, fixed the wonky stormbolter, replaced the gunner with the tech hatch, and engineered a custom AC. Now all it needs is a clean coat of paint!
Original BA Rhino
Original Freehand Skull now with Battle Damage
BA AC Razorback Custom WIP
Thanks for checking it out.
