Huh?
The only horizontal measurement is the base size of 40mm. The horizontal lines in the pic with the numbers above them are simply pointing to the area on the model which is the height indicated by the relevant number.

Unless you're confused as to how the total height was arrived at? It's another 40mm from the eye to the tip of the staff.

This model lacks focus. Too much adeptus + marine + a splash of ork = confusing mix. It also lacks a unifyed art style- power claw and afro cabling on the weapon staff really don't mix with the rest of the figure.

Also way too busy.

Well, I did say I was the product of public education. Apparently I missed the measuring data at the top of the pic.

As for the model itself, I think the head bit on the staff has a few too many pipes coming out of it and the two "blades" at the top look too much like rabbit ears. I didn't think "afro" until I saw the comment though. The rest of the model seems okay to me.

The company/sculptors seem to have a wing fetish.

I think I've convinced myself to get this kit and convert the hell out of it. I'm definitely leaving off the wings, staff, and claw, which means I'm just buying it for the body.

No its perfectly fine.

40+58=98 does not mean he added both.

If you look at its scale its correct.

Er... that's not actually what he's done. It's 98 mm to the top of the staff. That just happens to be the same as the addition of the height to eye and the base diameter...

Grytz (almost) always does a 54mm and 28mm version of his stuff. I think you'll see a pretty robust line of "not 40k Legion Leaders" in the near future.

I just did a quick review of this figure on my blog this week. He is 28mm scale (in my opinion) but as one poster said, he is very tall due to augmentation.

Unnoticed by most, Hitech made another release, something for Space Wolf fans:

Great Viking Lord Tyr Ulvar Stormbringer on Panzer Wolf (32 Euro):

Giant Panzer Wolf (22 Euro, legs of rider are integral part of wolf body!):
http://hitechminiatures.com/2/product/info/54

And I got the Admech miniature. It is indeed 58mm to eyeline. So if you like 54mm scale miniatures in your 28mm tabletop game, go for it (nice miniature of course, maybe usable as a statue).

No, you can just make out the legs on either side of the, er... 'wolf?'s' body.

I like the bionic eye, but can't say I'm a fan of the piece overall.

Maybe I am mistaking something and as I want one I am going to push this further - doesn't the sculptor say it is a 28mm scale model, just a dang big one. It isn't 54mm model just because it is 58mm to the eyeline in the same manner that a greater daemon of khorne isn't a 54mm scale model.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

Oh my... from the side, that 'wolf' is a little on the comical side. That's some big head, Harry.
