I place a lot of value in any sort of sandbox game, though that can't exactly be pinned down into a single genre. They tend to fall under the Third-Person-Shooter umbrella, with numerous unrelated minigames, racing elements, RPG elements, etc., though they can also break this mold completely (especially in games heavy in RPG elements; Bethesda comes to mind). The Sandbox MMO would be my favorite genre if Star Wars Galaxies was still around in it's original form. I also really enjoy RPG hybrids (Though I tend to hate pure RPGs), Fighting Games, and Turn-based Strategy Games. Also, it's worth noting that Survival Horror games did, at one point, have their own gameplay style (which intentionally took accurate control away from the player to intensify the experience; tank controls come to mind), but this hasn't been the case since the early 2000's.
