Knights are not titans. In before Alpharius.

Anyway, Tau Manta... its not a Titan, because the Tau don't have titans, but I love it because it makes everyone elses Titan weep like small schoolchildren...

Yes they were, they were called knight titans, and accompanied the titian legions into battle. I have all the old fluff from adeptus mechanicus, they were definatly considered titans. The rules for them were then rereleased in Titan Legions. I'm not sure why you would not classify them as tiians, they are not much smaller than warhounds and some of them carried titan scale weapons like volcano and quake cannons.

The Khorne Banelord was pretty sweet too.

I don't like Titans. I think the whole concept is silly. Just silly. That's just my personal opinion, and it's why I don't play Apocalypse.

That being said, if non-Imperial Titan-like machines are included, I will go with a Gargant. Orky engineering at its finest.

Yeah they are silly, but GW came up with the idea as a counter to battle tech. From their was spawned space marine/epic, which is one of their best games ever, sigh.

No, they aren't titans. They have never been called titans anywhere in the (official) fluff. If you go back and look, they are always referred to only as knights, not knight titans, and to my knowledge they never carried titan level weaponry, but thats besides the point.

I'm sorry but you are just wrong. If you look at when they were originally released for adeptus titanicus they were called Knight Titans, The Castellan and Crusader could carry quake cannons and volcano cannons, both were titan class weapons. You may not have knowledge of these facts, but they are facts none the less.

The Fluff does iterate that the Pilots consider themselves to be on par with Titans(Knightly Hubris)

Its sort of a Knightly pride machoisim thing going on, not that they are actual Titans, but rather that they are inbetween Titans and smaller Walkers. Minie Titans for all purposes.

They were technically a different class. Warhound was a scout class titan, Paladins, Crusaders, Castillians, and Errants were knight class titans. Then of course there were the eldar knight titans, and even chaos had their own knight class titans.

Hydraphants crept into the fluff somewhere. I think it was one of the Epic games. It's basically a trimmed down Dominatrix, built entirely for combat. It's power level tends to get exaggerated, though it's definitely more powerful than a Heirophant. Apparently big enough that it needs over active regeneration to repair the constantly tearing muscles and ligaments due to it being so heavy.

Speaking of the Dominatrix, I wish Forgeworld would do a 40k scale model. It would be on par with a Reaver. Something with huge bio cannons and a large synapse and shadow in the warp footprint.

You can play Apocalypse without Titans

And you can play with Titans without having to play 40k

For me its a toss up between the Nemesis Psi-titan or the Diviso Investigatus testbed Titan used for testing new and alien technologies.

I like titans, but I like tanks even more, so I have to go with the Stormblade super heavy tank. It still carries titan class weaponry - it is basically a plasma blastgun on treads. Man I just really wish that the Adeptus Mechanicus made even bigger tanks..

I actually love the look of the short lived MkII Warlord they released for a few months before the current MkIII Warlord took over all the illustrations. I liked how it blended the old beetle-back MkI with a more modern look.

As to Knights Titans, yes, they were always a class of Titan, and nowhere in the fluff did it state otherwise. In Mechanicus, it heavily implied that Knights and Reavers were being phased out as classes in favor of the heavier Warhounds and Warlords, but even then Knights were still called Titans.

Oh, I forgot about that one. So there are actually 4 different sculpts for the warlord.
MkI
MkII
MKIII & IV

Still like II the best, more options.
