Actually, in the original post, he specifically mentions that the only dedicated transport available to his friend's terminators is the Landraider (and variants). This suggests that it isn't a SW (or BT, if indeed they have the option) that he is talking about, but a Terminator unit that does not have Drop Pods as a transport option. It is actually very clear to me after rereading the original post what he was talking about.
However, polls are many times just answered without reading text, or without understanding the text, and rarely do voters who aren't actually posting reading anything beyond the first post. Also, there are some who vote incorrectly on purpose as an effort to showcase the futility of polling.

Technically, you can put Independant Characters in termie armour in a drop pod.
There are 12 seats in a vanilla marine drop pod (this means 10-man tac. squad+termie is allowed.
Anyway, this all leads to a rather sneaky and scary tactic in which Lysander turns up next to enemy tanks with 10 marines, this forces them to start running out of cover or be smashed. It works especially well as a scare tactic.

Ok, this, to be fair, is true (Comma).
We ARE talking about SQUADS.
We are NOT talking about SPACE WOLVES.

... no...
Your statement is not nearly exact enough.
The only multi-model unit in terminator armor that can be in Drop Pods are SWs, because every other codex doesn't give their Terminator units Drop Pods as a dedicated transport option.
However, all other codexes with Drop Pods as an option can included Independent Characters in Drop Pod units, because nothing prevents Terminator armor from being onboard a Drop Pod.

'Normal' (Non- SW or - BT) Terminator squads can not be in a drop pod. ICs in Terminator Armour can be, if they join a squad that is in one.
