Cultists would be a good inclusion.

Cost: 4 pts each

unit size: 10-30

WS2, BS2, S3, T3, W1, I3, A1, Ld6, Sv6+

Equipment: Lasgun, Flak vest(6+)

options: any cultist may swap his Lasgun for a laspistol and a CCW at no extra cost.

up to 3 cultists may swap their lasgun for a flamer for 5 pts.

up to 10 cultists may carry explosive vests for 5 pts each.

Explosive Vests: these are flax vests that have been packed with explosives. the cultist may detonate the explosives during the assault phase and when in CC before any blows are struck. center the small blast template over the cultist, all model under the template(friend and foe) suffer a Str8, Ap3 hit. remove the Cultist after the explosion is resolved. wounds from this count towards combat resolution(any friendly models killed count towards to enemies score)

Marks would be more expensive, but it would be worth it.

you can also combine gods who arn't opposed to each other.

if you run 4 units with MoK and 4 with MoT, all your unaligned units now have +1A and +1 invuln. Oblits and Defilers become godly.

In depth legion rules. Unless the NL rules actually change the army and let you play how they were intended, blood angels will be a better book for them.

Why not have the whole thing where instead of needing to have 6 squads for every 4 of the Opposite of a god why not needing to have 6 squads of the chosen god for every 4 of EVERY god.

that way unless the army is epicly sized in which case the bonus will be justified there is no real godlyness, just mild epicness because I have to agree, an I7 3+ 3++/I8 3+ 4++ DP would just be insane

well, with my set up you would need to have 6 units of every god to get every bonus.

who has 24 marked units in their army along with some unmarked units to get the rollover bonus from all 4?

it would have to be an Appoc game as there are only 17 FoC slots.

Here is my big wishlist:

-Traitor Legion Rules
-Better fluff (duh) that focuses more on the differences between Chaos Space Marines and Loyalist Space Marines
-Veteran Skills back for standard Chaos Space Marines
-Options for Mutations on some guys, mostly Chaos Lords and that sort of thing
-Cultists, because cultists are always great

Slightly cheaper Noise Marines with Sonic Blasters as standard.
Cheaper Possessed with Power Weapons standard and the abilities on the table are now upgrades.
Cheaper Bikes.
Cheaper Raptors.
Dreadclaws.
WD codices for Chaos Legions.

I don't really think anything needs to be changed too much.

I'm in the process of making a Chaos Legions fandex for The Codex Project. My ideas, which are really no more than wishlists anyway, are:
1. Give units with Marks of Chaos access to different sets of wargear and special rules. With the current codex layout, it wouldn't be too hard. This is a rough layout of what I had in mind.
2. Incorporate Legion rules as unit upgrades. This allows warbands of mixed Legions (with restrictions, of course), but with the right balance a mono-Legion or mono-god list would be equally viable.
3. Rebalance all units so that they all have a specific role. At the moment, many Chaos units are completely redundant (and overcosted). For example:
- Daemon Princes are big and tough, but you can only have one.
- Chaos Lords have a leadership role, and their gear can change force organisations around.
- Incorporate Possessed as unit upgrades rather than distinct units, since they do not have a unique role in the army.
- Chaos Raptors gain Hit & Run.
- Chaos Bikers gain some ability to make chasing down fleeing enemies easier.
- Make Obliterators worse in combat (lower attacks and WS) but give them T4(5) again.
And so on.
4. Reintroduce some measure of marked Daemons. They aren't as strong as in the Daemons codex, because I feel the ones in C:CSM represent the weaker form that Daemons would take without major warpstorms present (which is what the C:CD ones represent).
I realise that since the Chaos Legions codex is due out in a little over a year, according to rumour, so my efforts are mostly likely going to be wasted, but it's a fun exercise in the meantime

The sink.

Wishlist:

Cheaper sonic blasters for gods sake. And no more 40 point blastmasters.

Let Dreadnoughts take mark specific weapons (like sonic weapons)

More customizability for HQ's.

Put the Mutation sprue back in the CSM box. Seriously.

Make Defilers not suck more than a dreadnought. (Better I and WS)

Make Lucius worth taking ...? Is that even possible? Probably.

Give Chaos characters back their immunity to ID ( or at least the old Demonic Runes).

Surprise us with crazy stuff like fliers or something.

Cultist by the boatload. Produce plastic cultist box to go with unit. Thank you.

Can't say I really care about demons, but they should be an option for god-specific armies at least. Let World Eaters summon Khorne demons, etc. Let Word Bearers summon whatever they want, because that's how they roll.

Retconn Abbadons fluff to make him cool like Draigo.

Another wishlist of mine: That people will stop coming out with Chaos Legions fandexes. there's a million of them and they're all virtually the same thing. Please come up with something original.

thanks.

Mark of Khorne: +1 Attack and Furious Charge, No Sorcery, Rending
-Mark of Slaanesh: +1 Initiative and Combat Drugs
-Mark of Nurgle: +1 Toughness and Feel No Pain, -1 Initiative
-Mark of Tzeentch: 5++ or +1 to Invulnerable Save, Reroll one hit or wound per turn

I second this.

Moreover, in view of Emperor's Children:
- NM w/ sonic blaster should be cheaper, say 22 pts; this can be justified by looking at the new GKs,
- Bikers w/ sonic blasters as it was in the former incarnation of the codex,
- blastmasters are totally overpriced.

Get marines and daemons back into the same dex. Cultists would be cool too. Also make some unique lists for different legions.

So yeah kinda a truckload.

On the model side of things... would it kill them to release more Legion specific minis? Especially for the Undivided Legions. You know... a PLASTIC upgrade sprue like the loyalists get.

For the 4 god legions give them back the sacred numbers so you get an aspiring champ for free if the squad is the size of the number. Also, more customization for the characters and squad leaders. Like someone said earlier bring back the old chaos armory and daemonic gifts with squad leaders and ICs allowed different amounts of points to spend on either. Beef up the sorcerer's powers. And if a squad has one of the god's marks they get a 6+ invulnerable save against physic powers unless Khorne then it becomes a 5+.

Oh yeah, Iron Warriors need a codex, they are one of the best if not the best Chaos Legion out there.

Legion specific rules, and by that I don't mean the current " take Special character X to unlock Abilities Y and Z", I mean actual rules for the building of Legion armies...just like the good old days.

God specific lesser and greater Deamons, with god specific atributes....enough of this "generic deamon" stuff.

LATD,Cultist and traitor rules, I've said it before ( and will most likely have to say it again), as the enemies that the IoM faces most often, these factions need their own rules ( I know there are FW rules for some) , not just the use of the IG codex as a proxy.

Models-wise, I think for the 1st wave they'd be best releasing a Plastic Dreadnought, Plastic Raptors and Plastic Havocs, possibly a Defiler too at a push. Alongside Abaddon as a blister and other blisters, then they'd be best re-doing the cult/god units and their characters as later wave(s). Turns out there's actually a lot of the Chaos range that needs redoing.

There is hope that we'll get a more detailled codex when it comes to legions.
The current codex is some kind of jervisified simplifying things no matter what.
But the age of jervisification seems to be over when looking at the newer 'dexes.
