Watch just one vid of this game, and you will know it's not.
The only thing these titles have in common is the genre.
Yeh, just watched a few videos, I'm not expecting much, that way I won't be disappointed =]

It looks more like God of War with third-person shooter elements.

I am. The game my not completely follow cannon, but its a video game. We all know the only weapon a space marine needs is his bolter and combat blade, but in a video game sense, only hardcore fans would stick with one weapon, ( Which I plan to do in at least one playthrough) but to people who arent as familiar with the genre, weapon variety seems sensible. I am looking forward to september 6th.

It's good to see the 40k universe getting it's fair share of video game glory, but I think it's time to give another race some spotlight.

Guardsmen aren't supposed to live long enough. I can see it now, your first mission is you have to march across a minefield to clear the path for the more valuable tanks, then rush head-on into a bunker full of Chaos Marines and Deamons with nothing but a rock because they didnt give you enough power cells for your las rifle...

I hate it when people expect things based on a tabletop wargame to be appreciated.
Call of Duty's main audience is 12-18 year olds, as are most FPS games. 12-18 year olds are the ones who think of it as nerdy and won't touch anything related to wargaming, for fear of losing their friends.
That's the main problem, right there.

Call of duty/Battlefied the Imperial Guard would actually be a nice game, make yourself a storm trooper, or this veteran guy, so you won't die that much, I mean if One fire warrior actually did all that, why can't the say Karskin can't?
Anyhow buying Space marine, will wait a bit until at least the first end game/free explore end is available in SKyrim, unlike vanilla New Vegas

I'm pretty sure that game wasn't portraying a Fire Warrior in a realistic manner.

You can not tell me a game based on setpeices (like say, the skies blackening with Drop Pods as your getting overwelmed by Orks) wouldn't work when told from the perspective of a standard trooper.
Also, Call of Duty swaps between characters, why couldn't this?
