The finecast models look good, but ive seen my brother suffering trying to remove some of the resin in between the chainsword segments.

I want resin broadsides

Right? The only thing that would have made it better was resin Vespid. Where are my resin pathfinders? Can we at least get a resin upgrade sprue for the broadsides? I would pay a premium for that.

Doesn't this mean it's likely those metal things will be getting updated with the rumored Tau update soon? No idea when it'll be though. SoB has the WD codex soon and hopefully models come out with one of those, though I think the second issue is more likely since the points will be up in that issue, maybe reveal the models in the first issue. Then Necrons should be next.

I got some new DE models and I found the material to be very brittle and a huge amount of flash (or whatever it is called in this material). I don't think the detail is any better.

I do like how little they weight and how I don't have to pin the limbs.

I guess it is an end of an era.

Sorry, I didn't have time to read through the thread, so apologies if I'm repeating previous comments.
Basically I think the positives of Resin outweigh those of Metal: It's lighter (as you said); you don't have to pin them (again, you've said that); they don't get damaged as easily (in fact, most kits are actually quite hard to damage); deformities are much more uncommon, for instance I always find that Necron Immortals (I know they're not in resin yet) would come moulded incorrectly with limbs that don't fit, whereas resin fixes that. The list goes on. And yes, there are downsides, such as flash that is everywhere and harder to spot, but hey-ho they've done it now - I'm happy with it, and eventually it will become the norm
