Suppose they issue new space marines that are half again the height, two-headed and look pretty goofy to boot (beyond the normal), with 4 legged anime-look dreads with different looking guns.

I understand, but I would have to be insane to be playing such a game, so I am unaware what decisions I would make in such a reality.

I played Ordo Malleus since before it had a codex.

Although I don't like it it was sold as a grotesque it can be played as such. I typically play mine as wracks, or I would atleast add a terminator base to the standard base that the grotesque is on.

BT uses the Codex Astartes as toilet paper. They’re an Imp Fist successor, recruit from multiple planets, and are known to be the largest Chapter in the galaxy. They’re on a constant Crusade, keeping it real for the Emperor and not bumming around like the other guys. They hate psykers and can’t ally with them. They’re basically an entire chapter of Chaplains. CC lunatics. What every Space Marine should aspire to be, if not trapped in a Matt Ward nightmare.

Even if someone fields it as it wasn't intended, I'd at least hope that it's decorated on some special base to make it bigger in some way, but it's pointless to expect that when someone is willing to field it for an advantage.

Don't the people at least have to care of what others think of it, or that their army looks stupid by having these big things be undersized? I felt stupid mixing some old metal models with new and huge plastics, and that was still fielding basic troops as what they really were.

This makes me think of another point: how does this work with models that aren't even GW? Or is their official rules also implying if it's not GW (and thus not named right) it can't be fielded at all as anything? I at least see why people would field older in place of new, but would be unable to see why if they can field the wrong size that someone using totally different ranges wouldn't be able to undersize as well (although it does make it seem lamer to do so).

In my opinion, the new trukk is way too busy looking of a model, which makes it harder to make it look unique to the other trukks in your army. After all, they are supposed to be ramshackle piecemeal vehicles that the orks toss together from scrap, it looks pretty silly when they are carbon copies of each other.

The older trukks on the other hand, are pretty much a blank slate, and easier to make look unique.

None of my new trukks are stock You don't have to add all the options, not do you have to put everything in the places the instructions tell you to

That said, none of my ork vehicles are stock either....

Converting ork vehicles is fun
