If you're going to use WW2 vehicles in 40k, I think 1/48 models might match their size if the vehicle is large (although less wide and more length most of the time). Plus 1/48 plastics kits are usually cheaper than 28mm resin/metal

There is an article in the painting forums about plastic models for 40K with the 1/48 and 1/36 measurements compared to the official kits. For early war designs 1/36 is closer to GWs, late war and modern tanks do better in 1/48.

So far I´m using italian tanks for my IG and I got them in 1/36.

Jenkins: You don't have jurisdiction here!
Smith Jamison: We aren't here, which means when we open up on you and shred your bodies with automatic fire then this will never have happened.

About the Clans: "Those brief outbursts of sense can't hold back the wave of sibko bred, over hormoned sociopaths that they crank out though."

Runnin up on ya.

Thanks for the info!

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

As mentioned above, they'll look small compared to GW's models.

1/48 is the proper scale but we have to remember GW tanks are big and early war tanks are small. I've seen Japanese tanks that are about the size of my RAV4.

A 1/35 Sherman is just slightly larger than a Leman Russ.

Here's the news of the week:

Warlord Games buy BEF Miniatures! - http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/12890/warlord-games-buy-bef-miniatures/

We’re delighted to be able to announce that Warlord Games have purchased BEF Miniatures from owner and designer, Ian Crouch. This move allows us to bring the early stages of World War II to our customers with the intention to not only extend the great 28mm range Ian has built but also take it to a new level. With dozens of vehicles and a range of miniatures covering British, German and Belgian armies BEF meshes very well with our existing Bolt Action range which, whilst predominantly focusing on the late war, has French and Polish ranges for the early war. Expect all nationalities to see new releases before too long as Ian will continue to make vehicles for the range and we already have several almost ready to release! As you’ll appreciate moving a large range of miniatures, masters, moulds, etc will impact on production and as a result the BEF website has been taken offline. As soon as we’re able you’ll start to see the BEF range appear on the Warlord Games webstore and, of course, you’ll hear all about it first in our weekly email newsletter. The sooner the better as we’re all very excited about this new line. For the late war and Pacific fans amongst you, never fear – we’ll continue to bring you loads of new goodies! We have plenty coming through at the moment and the pace won’t slacken due to the BEF acquisition! We’d like to thank Ian for not only his boundless enthusiasm for the period but the gentlemanly way he’s conducted business in closing this deal. Not bad for a soft Southerner…

Now Available: Pike & Shotte Artillery Crews! - http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/12903/now-available-pike-shotte-artillery-crews/

One of the frequent requests we receive from you is to make our Pike & Shotte cannon crews available separately as Reinforcements. Okay, okay – we give in…

Sturm Tiger as a Demolisher, Jagdpanther as a Vanquisher and us the Tiger or Panther kits as Leman Russ MBT.

The Sd Kfz 251s would make great Salamander Scout vehicles.

Their not heroic scale? Does that mean they would actaully look "realistic" bedsides a Space Marine?

Which makes Space Marines true scaled

Pretty much Space Marines are already 28mm truescale, its just that guardsmen are 28/32mm heroic!

I'll get a picture of my Bolt Action StuG III and a Space Marine for size comparison tomorrow. I'll also put my 1:48 Tamiya StuG III there as mentioned above.
